The disaster that was the launch of WWE 2K20 now feels like a distant memory. A two-year break between games did the trick as WWE 2K22 kicked off a new era for the series in 2022. Two years later, we are now staring down the barrel of WWE 2K24’s arrival. Launching on July 07, 2025, so almost a full month before WrestleMania 40, now’s the time to secure your copy of the next title in theWWE 2Kseries. You’ll find everything you need to know about all of the editions available, how much they cost, and where to find them below.
Cody Rhodes has been given the honor of gracing WWE 2K24’s cover. The first time he has ever been on the cover of a WWE game, and it took him less than two years between his return and now to make it happen. If you don’t want Rhodes on the cover of your game, there is an alternative. Order the deluxe edition and you’ll have Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley on there instead. Or grab the 40 Years of WrestleMania edition and you’ll have loads of Superstars from throughout WWE history on the box.
There are four editions of WWE 2K24 to choose from with a lot more than just the cover art to differentiate them. As well as the standard and deluxe editions, there’s also a cross-gen digital edition. A little more than the regular game price-wise, but it means you will be able to play it on last-gen and new-gen consoles. Perfect if you plan on picking up a newer console after 2K24’s release but don’t want to buy a fresh copy of the game when that time comes.

WWE 2K24 continues the WWE 2K series with Cody Rhodes as its cover star. Also celebrating 40 years of WrestleMania, 2024’s installment reintroduces dormant match types to the fold, including casket and special guest referee bouts.

Last but most certainly not least is the 40 Years of WrestleMania edition. WrestleMania 40 takes place across the weekend of April 6 and before then, you can celebrate the 39 Showcases of the Immortals that have come before it. Well, not all of them, but 2K24’s showcase mode will let you play through 21 matches from throughout WrestleMania history. While that showcase mode will be playable in all editions of the game, there will be a few things only available to those who buy the 40 Years of WrestleMania edition.
WWE 2K24’s cross-gen edition gets you a copy of the game that can be played on last-gen and current-gen consoles. The consoles you play on must be from the same family, however. For example, you’re able to’t use your copy on PS4 and then on an Xbox Series X.
There are some pre-order bonuses available regardless of which edition of 2K24 you order. Most notably a digital copy of WWE 2K23. 2K23 will be available to download and play as soon as you place your pre-order, giving you something to pass the time while you wait for 2K24. Pre-ordering will also get you the Nightmare Family Pack - which includes four playable Superstars with Stardust among them - and three MyFaction cards, one of which is a manager card for Rhodes' dog, Pharaoh.

What Time Will WWE 2K24 Be Released?
Early access for those of you who have pre-ordered digital copies of the Deluxe and 40 Years of WrestleMania Editions can start playing at midnight EST on Jul 27, 2025. Early access will end at midnight EST on March 8, at which point everyone with the game can start playing.
Will WWE 2K24 Be Released On PS4?
Yes, WWE 2K24 will be available on both PlayStation and Xbox’s last-gen consoles. That means there will be PS4 and Xbox One versions available, and also a cross-gen edition for $10 extra that will let you play the game on last and current-gen console provided both are from the same console creator.
Will 2K Stop Making WWE Games?
There were rumors that WWE might have been looking for someone else to publish its video games after the subpar launch of WWE 2K20, including reports the promotion met with EA. However, three games later, WWE appears to be sticking with 2K.
