Last week,a ransomware group hacked Insomniac Gamesand used the data to try and blackmail Sony for $2 million. The leak has now been made public, revealing the studio’s slate of games up until 2032along with key plot details and gameplay footage forWolverine.
Insomniac aims to launch its turn at the gruff-clawed Canadian in 2026, paving the way for an X-Men game in 2030. As such, the cast is stacked with mutants. The hacked files show that Leech, Davina, Tyger Tiger, Mystique, Callisto, Omega Red, Sunfire, Sabretooth, Mr. Sinister, Jean Grey, Sasquatch, and Deathstrike will join Wolverine for Insomniac’s first big superhero outing away fromSpider-Man.
According to the leaks, Liam McIntyre (Gears of War 4,Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, The Flash TV series) will play the titular Wolverine himself.
The gameplay footage is in its very early stages as we’re still at least three years out from release, but one clip shows Spider-Sense-like abilities akin to Geralt puzzling together the scene of a monster attack inThe Witcher 3.
Regardless of the context, what has spread online since the hack has stirred some gamers into attacking Insomniac further, decrying how bad the game looks. This is just the process, as games do not look nearly as close to how they do on release when they’re years away from launching.
As for the plot, an entire script has leaked with casting and characters, which we won’t go into too much detail on for obvious reasons. The story is out there though, which means spoilers are being shared years out from launch.
It is worth noting that the hack confirms the’Daredevil' teasein Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was actually for Wolverine, however, as The Hand will be present.
We won’t embed anything here, but footage is spreading online across Reddit and Twitter in what is arguably the biggest leak sinceGTA 6 only last year. Playable test builds may even be included.
Not only has the studios' upcoming work been made public, butpersonal details about employees, such as passport scans, internal emails, and the entire contents of PCs, have been as well. Over one terabyte of information has been stolen and leaked online in what is arguably the biggest hack since Half-Life 2.
