In the vast land of Hydaelyn, the political turmoil that envelopes the region of Eorzea is a constant issue that its denizens trifle with in everyday life. To bring peace to Eorzea and unite its people under a single banner, the Scions Of The Seventh Dawn were formed in the face of threats such as the secretive Ascians and the ruling Garlean Empire forever at their heels.
Final Fantasy 14offers its players many gripping stories and characters, and if you have played the game, you are familiar with some of your most trusted allies in the Scions. In the current version of the game, the organization has been standing since before the Warrior Of Light joined, but the group was formed far before the events of A Realm Reborn.

How Were The Scions Formed?
The Scions were formed from the remains of two groups active during the events of theSeventh Umbral Calamity:The Circle Of Knowing and The Path Of The Twelve.
The Circle Of Knowingwas a group ofArchons formed by Sharlayan scholar, Louisoix Leveilleur, who sought to bring peace to Eorzea through covert means, given that the Forum, the group of scholars he belonged to who acted as a governing body in Sharlayan, saw fit to stay away from worldly matters in favor of Sharlayan’s neutrality.
Only active during Final Fantasy 14 1.0,The Path Of The Twelvewas led by Minfilia Warde and was a group dedicated to protecting the citizens of Eorzea who possessed the blessing of theEcho.Although the group was short-lived, their mission aligned with the Circle’s path, making their alliance far more fruitful.
The Scions' Mission
The Scions Of The Seventh Dawn task themselves as protectors of Eorzea. Whether it be in the form of a summoned Primal, or the Garlean Empire overstepping their boundaries, they are sure to make an appearance. With the help of members blessed by the Echo and scholars studied under Archon Louisoix, their intervention is mostly welcomed even though they are not a part of a nation’s banner.
Initially, the Scions were formed to prevent further Calamities from razing the land of Eorzea, but the political landscape of the world has shifted their sights towards Garlemald and their evil doings.
Who Are The Scions?
As with any healthy organization, the Scions are comprised of many moving cogs to follow through in their operations. From skilled fighters like Yda Hext to excellent tacticians like Alphinaud Leveilleur, the Scions are well-equipped for any dangerous quest that Hydaelyn might throw their way.
The Warrior Of Light
The protagonist, also known as the Champion Of Eorzea, joins the Scions in search of adventure, but progressively unlocks their true power as it is later revealed that they are the current incarnation ofAzem, the fourteenth seat of the Convocation from the time of the Ancients.
Minfilia Warde
Minfilia was the leader of the Path Of The Twelve before disbanding the organization and forming the Scions. She remained the Scions’ leader and continued her quest of finding people with the Echo’s blessing and persuading them to join the Scions until her corporal body returned to the Aetherflow to rejoin Hydaelyn.
Thancred Waters
The resident information scout and later gunbreaker, the street urchin was scouted by Master Louisoux, after seeing his skill at being unseen by large groups of people. Thancred Waters has been a staple of the Scions since their inception.
Yda Hext
Hailing from the fallen state of Ala Mhigo, Yda harbors a secret past that is unbeknownst to even her closest comrades. Her brash nature constantly gets her into trouble with her closest Lallafel pal, Papalymo.
Papalymo Totolymo
The polite Lalafell was one of Louisoix’s best students. He is a powerful Thaumaturge who can rival even his mighty teacher and was able to channel the power of the Tupsimati to seal a raging Shinryu during the battle at Baelsar’s Wall.
Y’shtola Rhul
After spending some time within the Lifestream, Y’shtola was blinded and now must consume her own Aether to see, but this does not slow down the powerful Black Mage. As one of the smartest in the group, her knowledge of the arcane is invaluable in many situations that the Warrior Of Light encounters.
Louisoix Leveilleur
One of the members of the Forum and the founder of the Circle Of Knowing, Master Louisoix’s legacy is continued by the Scions and his grandchildren Alphinaud and Alisaie.
During the events of Final Fantasy 14 1.0, Louisoix prevented further destruction from Bahamut, by sealing the primal,ushering in the Seventh Umbral Era.
Urianger Augurelt
The elven comrade of the Scions prides himself on his prophecy skills and prose-like speech. His childhood friend Moenbryda sacrificed herself to stop the Ascian, Nabriales. Urianger was forced to overcome this horrible pain and guilt to further aid the Scions Of The Seventh Dawn.
Alphinaud Leveilleur
One of two twin grandchildren of the Archon Louisoix, Alphinaud joined the Scions Of The Seventh Dawn after his grand company,the Crystal Braves, crumbled due to his troops betraying him and siding with the Ul’dah Monetarists Syndicate.
Alisaie Leveilleur
The fiery and tough side of the Leveilleur twins, Alisaie can be childish at times, but her heart of gold shows its head when it comes to protecting the ones she loves, including her uptight brother, Alphinaud.
G’raha Tia
The best boy, G’raha Tia was first introduced as a young Miqo’te, longing for adventure with the Warrior Of Light. A bit green when it comes to real combat,the Allag descendant proved himself by saving the Warrior Of Light and sealing the Crystal Tower.
Estinien Wyrmblood
Estinien is the typical dragoon from most Final Fantasy games. Brooding, edgy, and incredibly strong, but all the small details, like his inability to haggle or be a smart shopper, make the Azure Dragoon as lovable as he is feared.
Other Notable Scions
After the events of Endwalker, The Scions Of The Seventh Dawn agreed that since there is no imminent threat to Hydaelyn, they are free to disband and pursue their personal goals. They agreed that if there ever comes a time when the world may need the Scions once again, they will always answer the call.
