Before you can get into the mining mechanic inMy Time at Sandrock, you’ll first need to do Yan a pretty huge favor. He promised Rocky, the leader over at Eufala Salvage, a pair of Crane Lifts, and he’s not yet delivered. Thankfully, you and Mi-an are the new builders in town, more than capable of finishing the work.

You’ll need some brand new resources to begin building Rocky’s cranes, though, which can be found within Eufala Salvage and processed back at home. Once you’ve delivered the cranes, the Abandoned Ruins is yours to begin exploring for long-hidden treasures within.

How To Begin Building Rocky’s Crane

One of your first overarching missions in My Time at Sandrock begins only a few days into your stay, when youenter the Commerce Guildafter getting your town tour from Jasmine. For us, this happened the following morning.

When you go in, you and Mi-an stumble upon a humorous scene ofYan being held up by Rocky, the leader over atEufala Salvagenot far from your workshop.

Rocky is unhappy because Yan is late delivering thetwo cranesRocky and his team ordered.

Yan divides the work betweenyou and Mi-an, witheach of you making one of the Crane Liftshe promised Rocky.

You’ll unlockthe Crane Lift blueprintfor yourAssembly Stationat the workshop, but you’re going toneed materials from Eufala Salvageto complete the work. Rocky offers you aone-week pass into Eufala Salvage.

Past this initial week, the pass costs 200 Gols per week, so be sure to complete this task in a timely fashion if you don’t have many Gols yet.

As with the other items you’ve built at your Assembly Station so far, select the blueprint at the Assembly Stationto bring up the outline of the crane, and begin gathering resources.

To build Rocky’s Crane Lift in My Time at Sandrock, you’ll need a total of:

Make Bricks In The Furnace

To makeeight total Bricksto include in the Crane Lift, you’ll need a total of32 Stone.

These can be found fromGravelaround the desert, or inStone Scrapfrom Eufala Salvage. You’ll need yourPickhammerto get it.

Process Wood Into Wooden Sticks

Using a total of15 pieces of Wood, you’ll need to makefive Wooden Sticks. This can be done at theWorktable.

To find Wood, use yourAxeonWood Scrapeither inside of or around Eufala Salvage.

Don’t cut down the trees near your Workshop! With plant life so scarce in the desert, you’ll be punished for wasting limited resources by cutting down living trees.

Buy The Recipe For Thick Rope At The Commerce Guild Store

Before you can craft thesix Thick Ropesyou’ll need for the Crane Lift in My Time at Sandrock, you’ll first need tobuy the recipe. It’s for sale if youinteract with the register to the right of Yan’s deskover inside theCommerce Guild.

Once you have the Thick Rope blueprint, you can grab24 Plant Fibersalong the way home bycutting down busheswith yourAxe, before turning them into Thick Rope at theWorktable.

Recycle Mechanical Scrap To Get Bearings

You won’t have seen these quite yet until you have access to Eufala Salage, but you needfour Bearingsfor the Crane Lift.

You’ll find them withinMechanical Scrappiles, which can be obtained from theMixed Junk Pilesin Eufala Salvage. Your chance to get them is a bit random, but this is your best shot until you have better tools later in the game.

Each pile of Mechanical Scrap has a high chance to drop at least one Bearing when put through theRecyclerat your Workshop.

Recycle Copper Scrap To Get Copper Sticks

Finally, the last few ingredients you’ll need arefive Copper Sticks.

To get these, simplyharvest Copper Scrapfrom Eufala Salvage’sMixed Junk Piles, and then take it home to process in theRecyclerwith a high chance to get at least one Copper Stick per pile of Scrap.

It’s unlikely you’ll have access to one yet, as a Research Center discovery, but Processors can also make Copper Sticks if you ever need this recipe again - which you may, if it comes up as a sporadic Commission.

Delivering The Crane Lift Opens The Abandoned Ruins

Finally, once you’ve finished assembling the crane at home, be sure tograb the finished productand then head back over toEufala Salvageonce again. When you arrive, Mi-an will be there with her completed crane, too.

You both install your cranes in a cutscene at the edge of the cliff at Eufala Salvage, when Rocky tells you that this is how he and his teamaccess the mines below.

He offers you abrief explanation of how mining works, which serves as your introduction to the mining mechanic in My Time at Sandrock.

Whenever you’re ready, take the crane down to the Abandoned Ruinsto begin digging for relics and putting your new mining skills to use!
