Summary

There’s a conventional saying you’ve probably heard of that claims history tends to repeat itself, and in some way, this is true forFallout 76; players are seeking out sugar, a valuable and highly sought-after resource, in the same way that Colonial Era world powers were hundreds of years ago.

Whether you’re looking for quick sources of sugar that are already refined and ready to go for all of your crafting needs, or you’re more interested in gathering and mass refining heaps of Snaptail Reeds into a gigantic, white mountain of sucrose, look no further than Fallout 76’s ‘sweetest’ locations.

Some of these locations involve harvesting Snaptail Reeds; if you’re going to be gathering these vital sugar components en masse, it’d be a good idea to invest in theGreen Thumbperk.

6Whitespring Golf Club

If you find yourself wandering the Whitespring Golf Club, there are three jars of sugar you may find in the area. Inside the main, two-story building, you’ll find one in the kitchen, and another on the right side of the bar’s countertop while you’re facing it.

Once you’ve scooped those up, and hopefully dealt with all the Feral Ghouls in the area, head over to the housing northeast of the main building, where the last jar of sugar will be found in a drawer connected to a counter.

5Toxic Dried Lakebed

If you’re snooping around for sugar throughout the Toxic Dried Lakebed, there are two buildings you should scrounge after you’ve defeated the Mirelurks, Snallygasters, Radscorpions, and other creepy creatures in the area: the Lakeside Grill, a faded, red and white diner just north of Clarksburg, and a humble coffee house nearby.

Inside the Lakeside Grill, thoroughly check underneath the counters, and you should be able to find two jars of sugar. Then, once you’ve found the coffee house, which has certainly seen better days, head through the front door and look towards the back of the building. One jar of sugar will be on the right side of the counter.

4Freddy Fear’s House Of Scares

If you’re having a swell time in the eastern side of the map, you should make a quick stop at Freddy Fear’s House of Scares, an odd, pre-war building alongside Highway 66 that is part Halloween costume store and part waffle house. Oh, and be prepared to encounter Wendigos, Scorched, and Feral Ghouls in this area.

Anyways, instead of wondering if this location is some kind of abstract reference to theFive Night’s At Freddy’sseries, just break through some level one doors to access the kitchen, and tear up the place until you’ve found all four jars of sugar.

3Jeff Lane’s Apartment

If you’re not familiar with Jeff Lane, a surely beloved and dedicated member of the Cult of the Mothman who lived in Point Pleasant both before and after the war, it’s time to get acquainted with him, or more accurately, his absolutely loaded apartment.

If you’ve managed to dodge or defeat all the Scorched, Bloodbugs, and other hostile enemies, and made it to Lane’s second-story apartment just across from the Mothman Museum by climbing a nearby fire escape, you’ll be rewarded with six big jars of sugar strewn throughout the rooms.

2River Bend Just North Of Highway 64

If you find yourself traveling east along Highway 64, it’d be worth the few minutes of time and effort to jump in the river and get your feet wet by treading through the nearby river bend, as seen circled in red, that the highway had to build over.

Once you’re trudging through shin-deep river water, you should be able to find a bunch of Snaptail Reeds sprouting out from the base of large rocks, or silty soil found under the Highway and along the river’s inner embankments. Ultimately, you should be able to grab at least a couple dozen reeds, especially if you’re using the Green Thumb perk.

1Eastern River Bank Between Kanawha Nuka-Cola Plant And Mothman Museum

If you’re in need of ludicrous amounts of Snaptail Reeds, which in turn would create excessive amounts of sugar, then you should start by heading over to the Kanawha Nuka-Cola Plant in the southwest area of the map.

Once there, all you have to do is take a leisurely stroll to the north, picking reeds found along the eastern river bank as you go. Once you’ve reached Point Pleasant, you should only go a little bit further, as there won’t be many reeds to collect beyond that point.

If you need to, you can also head east of Hillfolk Hotdogs where the river splits to find even more reeds alongside the southern embankment, at least up until you hit that big, colorful sign for Green Country Lodge.
