Sand can only be found in theKindlewastes, the fifth and final biome inEnshrouded. To access this area you’ll need to upgrade your Flame Altar to level 4, otherwise the passage to the region is blocked by unpassable red Shroud areas. Once there, you can harvest sand relatively easily by using your Pickaxe on any sandy area.
Sand is a useful crafting material, but it is largely inaccessible until you’ve got the right level of Flame Altar - there are methods to reach the Kindlewastes by avoiding the Shroud by climbing over mountains. It’s not recommended, however, as the enemies will one-shot you.

Enshrouded is currently in early access - some of this information may be subject to change over time.
Where To Find Sand
To reach the Kindlewastes, where there is plenty of sand available, you will need to complete each biome in order.
Once you’ve clearedRevelwoodand its quests, then headed into theNomad Highlandsand completed the quests there, you will eventually reach theKindlewastes- a desert, where there is plenty of sand for crafting recipes.
There are poisonous scorpions, flying birds, as well as regular Scavenger enemies throughout the Kindlewastes.
Sand is used for decorative purposes, like crafting actual glass windows, as well as other crafting recipes with the Alchemist, Carpenter and Blacksmith.
Once you’ve actually reached the desert, it’s not difficult to find sand - just mine any area of sand and stock up on plenty before returning home.
