Sometimes, when exploring the desolate, moon-based complexes inLethal Company, you’ll end up coming across locked doors. No amount of hitting them with a shovel or sign is going to break them down, and even most monsters can’t break through them.

You could leave it be, but maybe there’s a bunch of valuable scrap on the other side of the door, or it’s the only way forward into the complex. If you don’t have a Lockpicker on hand because you’re out of money, saving your money for a big purchase, or it’s too late to buy one, you’re going to need a key.

How To Find Keys

As a type of scrap, Keys canspawn randomly inside any moon’s complex, and generally, you’llfind between three and fiveof them each time you load onto a moon. Each Keytakes up one slotin your inventory, and you’re able tocarry up to four of themper player.

Keys have avalue of three, butselling themto The Companydoesn’t add anythingto your money madeor count towards your quota.

They canspawn in any locationwithin a complex, but you’lloften find them in Piped Hallway rooms, as well ason Staircasesandin Storage Rooms, and they’repicked up by your scannerlike other scrap.

Keys are intended tounlock any regular locked door you findwithin a complex, andafter they’ve been used once, they’ll disappear, unlike theLockpicker equipment item.

Keys and Lockpickerswon’t work on Security Doors, you’ll have touse the ship’s Terminal to unlock them instead.

How To Use Keys

To use a key, you’ll first need tohave it in your inventory. Locate whicheverlocked door you want to unlockin the facility, then scroll over andequip the key.
