Before you get too far into the story ofMy Time at Sandrock, you’ll begin to notice treasure chests hidden around the town of Sandrock and its surrounding areas. There are 28 of these chests in total, with some of them far easier to access than others.
to collect every treasure chest in My Time at Sandrock, you’ll need to progress the story, unlock more of the map, dust, dig, shoot, and hop your way to all the loot you’re bound to find. Each chest has something different – whether that’s recipes, loot, resources, Gols, or so much more.
Upgrade Your Knowledge Point Tree To Show Treasure Chest Locations On Your Map
As you continue gathering resources while playing My Time at Sandrock, you’ll accumulateKnowledge Points, specifically in theGathering subsection, for collecting items around town.
You’ll see, in the rightmost column of the Gathering Knowledge Point skill tree, atreasure chesticon third down from the top. This representsTreasure Knowledge, and the very first perk once you’ve unlocked access to that column is the ability tosee the exact locations of all treasure chests on your map.
However, you can’t access your Treasure Knowledge right away - you’ll need to putat least one Knowledge Point into Basic Gathering Knowledgefirst before the column with Treasure Knowledge Unlocks.
This means unlocking the precise location of every hidden chest in My Time at Sandrock requiresat least two total Gathering Knowledge Points, so get to collecting resources sooner than later as you get started playing!

2 Soy Sauce
On the balcony with the outdoor seating on the upper level outside the Blue Moon Saloon.
1 Fluorite
On the roof of the Ranch Store at the Yakmel Ranch
Yakmel Horn Bracelet Recipe Book
To get up to the roof and access this chest, you’ll need to head around to the far side of the Ranch Store building and hop up the planks against the side of the building.
Hanging above Sandrock Tunnel.
Stone Daggers
You’ll need either a Throwing Rock or your Pistol to shoot down this chest by firing at the dangling chest. You can open it once it’s on the ground.
Attached to a balloon against a high rock across fromthe Research Center.
50 Gols
Like the chest above, you’ll need a Throwing Rock or Pistol to get this chest. Your best line of site is from the Research Center roof, by the Telescope.
Attached to a balloon against the cliff across from theGame Center.
Steamed Meat Pie with Salty Eggs Recipe Book
Again, you’ll need a Throwing Rock or Pistol for this one. Get back to the roof of the Research Center and hop across to the Museum for a good line of sight.
In the center of the rock archway byMi-an’s house.
1 Diamond
This chest is tricky to access, requiring you to jump carefully across rooftops from theChurch of Lightall the way down to Mi-an’s house.
Wedged betweenPablo’s Parlorand the stairs leading up to Amirah’s home.
2 Gold
Instead of taking the stairs, there’s a thin inlet to the right with the chest at the end.
On the metal scaffolding between Pablo’s Parlor and Tailor Made.
Pioneer (book)
Use the stairs behindPablo’s Parlorto access the roof, and then drop down onto the scaffolding. Turn around when you land, and the chest is right behind you.
Hanging between the windows on the second floor of the building next to Pablo’s Parlor.
Blessing Pendant
Use the stairs to access the roof of Pablo’s Parlor, and carefully jump across to land on the platform with the chest. This treasure chest is tricky, and may require a few attempts before you land just right.
5 Water
Behind the sign on the roof of the City Hall stables.
Bone Necklace
Head behind the City Hall Stables to access the roof, and then locate the chest hiding just behind the sign.
BeneathWater World, under the platforms.
Around the World in However Many Days (book)
You’ll need to access the underside of the platforms from further along down the Oasis, and work your way back to the chest directly beneath Water World.
Near the locked back entrance to the Miner’s Dorm on a balcony.
100 Gols
Use the balcony by Trudy’s home to get up to the balcony at the Miner’s Dorm.
On the highest rock overlooking downtown Sandrock from the Church of Light.
Yakboy Painting
Beginning at the Church of Light, find ledges you’re able to jump to along the path over to this treasure chest. There’s no clear path, but you are able to jump and scale the cliff.

Machine Upgrade Kit
Like the other balloon treasure chests, you’ll need a Pistol or Throwing Rock to knock this chest down.
10 Gols
At the very end of the longest plane wing at theMoisture Farm.
Fine Forest Mushroom Cake Recipe Book
This chest is on the plane wing that’s been left whole, jutting out over the canyon a bit.
Buried in sand by the main body of the plane at the Moisture Farm.
Sugar Fried Chestnut Recipe Book
This chest is visible from the ground, but barely, Use yourFeather Dusterto remove the sand so you can open the chest.
Buried in sand against a rock near the Fishing Spot in the Eufaula Desert byEufaula Salvageas you head into the Grand Mesa.
Armor Display Piece 1
Again, you’ll need your Feather Duster to uncover this chest so you’re able to open it.
Buried in sand top of the rock formation West from your Workshop, near the Bumble Ants and Yakmel spawn points.
Condensed Power Stone
This one is another buried chest that requires your Feather Duster.
By a wooden bridge in the desert West from the previous chest, on a lower level.
Milk Chestnut Recipe Book
This chest can be tough to spot, as it, once again, is covered in sand. Bring your Feather Duster for this one, too.
Buried by sand as you descendinto Paradise Lostfrom Eufaula Salvage.
Armor Display Piece 2
This buried treasure has a Sweeper nearby, so defeat the enemy and use your Feather Duster to uncover this treasure chest.
On the large skeleton in the Eufaula Desert by theGecko Station Ruins.
Yakboy Small Picture Frame
There arepowerful enemiesawaiting inside the skeletal remains, but climb up the spine to find this chest on one of the bones up top.
Buried in sand between rib bones of the large skeleton in the Eufaula Desert.
Fish Porridge Recipe Book
Not far from the last chest, but down on the ground, you’ll find this chest buried in sand along the skeleton’s ribs, so use your Feather Duster to dig it up.
You don’t everhaveto collect the treasure chests in My Time at Sandrock, but doing so provides a wealth of extra Gols, cooking ingredients, resources, and more.
