ThroughoutJusant, you’ll find mounds of stacked rocks called cairns. What are they, and what do they mean? Cairns have traditionally been used throughout history as memorials for people or civilizations long since dead, as a way to remember those who have gone before.

As you find cairns in Jusant, you can interact with them, adding a rock to the top of the stack. While these cairns don’t add to the story, it is a beautiful and unique way of ensuring that the people who used to live here are never forgotten. There are 20 cairns to find throughout Jusant, and this guide is here to help you find each one.

Chapter 1: Daymark

Cairn #1

You’ll find the first cairninside a large, dark chamber near the bridge connecting the two towers.

To get there,climb up the ladder on the other side, and before going to the lighthouse,follow the narrow path around the chasm.

Cairn #2

To the right of the stairs on the tower is a path.Take that all the way aroundtill you find the cairn on the other side of the tent.

Chapter 2: Migration

Cairn #3

When you’re at the cliff facing the lighthouse,turn right to find the third cairn on the ledge.

Cairn #4

The next cairn is on this platform near where you findShell #2.

However, to get there, you have toclimb up to the village, then take theelevator on the left side to the cliff above.

At the end of the cliff, beside the building where you foundLetter #10, attach your lineto the wall and rappel downuntil you can swing over to the platform.

Cairn #5

In the chamber above the village,you’ll find a large circle cutinto the tower wall. Take the stairs, and the cairn is on the circle floor.

Cairn #6

After a lengthy climb up through a large chasm in the tower,the fifth cairn will be found on the top ledge.

Chapter 3: Solstice

Cairn #7

Turn left and follow the ledge around, then turn left again down a long corridor.At the end, you’ll find the sixth cairn.

Cairn #8

You’ll find the seventh cairn on a small ledge in the shade, below some of the wall flowers and vines.

Cairn #9

When you reach the windmill,follow the ledges all the way downto the bottom ledge, where you’llfind the next cairn.

Cairn #10

Behind the white tree (where you foundLetter #20),activate the vine, then climb up.

Turn leftbehind thewhite tanks, then, while keeping your line attached,jump across a couple of ledgestill you reach the cairn.

If you’re having trouble,try jumping against the wallto get across.

Cairn #11

You’ll soon come to a large open area withtracks and minecarts. There’s a platform in the middle of that area, andbelow that are several ledges.

Go down the ledges till you reach a ladder,then climb down the ladder to the cairn.

Cairn #12

Up past the mining area, you’ll find a cliff with a couple of doors and aboat perched precariously.The cairn is to the left of the boat, out on a ledge.

Cairn #13

Take this narrow walkway through the crevice. Follow the ledge till you find a door on your right.

To the left of the door is ananchor pointyou can use to drop down to the level below.Go down, and you’ll find the next cairn.

Chapter 4: Convergence

Cairn #14

Once you’re in the biome filled with glowing fungus, climb the ladder on the left. Then,go around the table on the rightand cross the bridge.

Turn left into the room, and you’ll findthe cairn in the center of the floor.

Cairn #15

After going down the long zipline in the large, spacious cavern,take the elevator to the right.

In the next room,turn left to find the cairn near the wall.

Cairn #16

After gettingLetter #38, go back down the ladder, then turn right across the bridge.The cairn will be in the little alcove at the end.

Cairn #17

When you first enter an area of the caverns withgreen glowing fungus, turn left, and you’ll find the cairn.

Cairn #18

Continue your ascent in the great basin after findingLetter #42.

After pulling down a bridge,take the elevator upto a spiral staircase. Before going up the staircase, however,use the anchor point to your leftto swing across to the ledge where thecairn is.

Chapter 5: Mirage

Cairn #19

When you begin climbing, you’ll eventually come totwo windmills on top of each other.Climb up them and to the right, using the vine,till you find a large settlement.

Keep to the rightof the settlement till you find some steps.At the top of the steps is the cairn.

Cairn #20

When you reach the top of the heights,before activating the device, turn left into the large hall, then turn left again into a small room.You’ll find the cairn here on the floor.
