There are items you can find throughoutBaldur’s Gate 3that can heighten your combat abilities by offering different buffs.Devilfoil Masksare one of these items that, when used correctly, can make or break a fight. Devilfoil Masks are found within Act 1 of the game, so be sure you aren’t too far in the game before following this guide.
This guide will detail where to find all possible Devilfoil Masks. You can find multiple in differing locations, you just need to explore a little. We will also go over how the Devilfoil Masks actually work and what you can do with them past Act 1.

Where To Find All Devilfoil Masks
To find the Devilfoil Masks, you need tohead toGrymforge, located in The Underdark, via a boat at the Underdark Beach. The forge is run by some duergar who won’t appreciate any funny business, so it is probably best that youdeal with the duergar vs. gnomes feudbefore trying to find all the masks.
The first mask is easy to find, as it is on a table within Grymforge grounds, butthe last couple of masks require traversing through the upper level of Grymforge. To access the higher levelyou have to go up the stairs past the main waypoint, then take a right toward the merchant, continue until you’re able to go up some steps, and take a left around a corner.

There will be duergar and more rothe at work, and once the feud between Nere, the gnomes, and the duergar is solved, the duergar here will disappear once you havetaken a rest at camp.Youmust use anexplosive bomb to destroy the rubblehere and uncover the upper level, and the second Devilfoil Mask will be at the feet of a skeleton upon passing the rubble.
You don’t have to wait until the conflict is resolved here. You can speak with the duergar or the deep rothe and convince one of them to leave or destroy the rubble.

Go down the first ladder you see andhave at least two or three of your party members jump onto the metal platform. Have the remaining personuse the levers to bring your teammates to the other side, and the first large doors you see can be unlocked.
There is not much inside this room, butthere is another locked door up the stairs and to the right, where a fight against strong enemies utilizing Devilfoil Masks will occur. One mask will be on the altar in the room andthe other will be loot from the strongest enemy, Merregon Legionnaire.

Location
Mask 1
On a table in the area where there is rubble blockage holding Nere. The table is across from a merchant.
Mask 2
Past the breakable rubble surrounded by deep rothe and duergar. Past the merchant above the waypoint.
Mask 3
Upper level of Grymforge. Behind two locked doors on the other side of the metal platform. On the altar.
Mask 4
Upper level of Grymforge. Behind two locked doors on the other side of the metal platform. On the body of Merregon Legionnaire.
How To Use Devilfoil Masks
Wearing a Devilfoil Mask by yourself will effectively do nothing but make you look a little silly, as the masks only do something if more than one person on the same team is wearing them. With two or more party members wearing a Devilfoil Mask, each wearer will gain the Infernal Legion buff, which goes as follows:
Effect
Infernal Legion
When within 20m of another creature wearing a merregon’s mask,Strength increases by 1 and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma decrease by 1per nearby mask.
To utilize the masks to the best of its ability, you would want those with high Strength to be wearing the Devilfoil Mask. People like Karlach and Laezel, your tanks, can get a +2 increase in Strength whenever you please, andif your entire party is proficient in Strength and applies the match, you would get +4 Strength each.
It wouldn’t be wise to have those not proficient in Strength using the masksas they will see a decrease in performance of their actual useful and high stats. This is due to the fact that the maskincreases Strength at the cost of decreasing everything else.
Uses For The Devilfoil Mask In Act 2
If you are tired of the uses of the Devilfoil Masks or are just curious about what else can be offered, you should try giving it to Dammon in Act 2.Once you reach Last Light Inn in Shadow-Cursed Lands,Dammon will be in the stables and will offer to make useful armor for you if you find interesting material.
Dammon can make special items from Infernal Ironand Mythril Ore, andif you give him a Devilfoil Mask, he will turn it into an Orthon Explosive. This explosive deals3-18 Fire and Thunder damage, it can only be used once, and will cause Infernal Burning on the target.
