Once you’re done exploring The Island area inArk: Survival Ascended, you’ll likely want to settle down and make a base. This base can be used to progress in the game and create higher-tier items so that you can tame and breed various dinosaurs. During this process, Crystal is one of the most essential resources.
This resource is used to create a Spyglass during the early game, which is likely the most valuable item since it lets you see dinosaur levels from afar. However, it’s far more useful during the late game since it’s an ingredient for almost every major structure that you’ll need.
How To Get Crystal In Ark: Survival Ascended
As mentioned above, you’ll need a bit of Crystal during the early game to make a Spyglass. Thankfully, you can easily get this by heading over to thetop of a slope in the southern part of The Island(as highlighted in the picture above). This area is relatively easy to get to even without a flyer, and it’s not very dangerous.
However, if you want to far Crystal in bulk, you’ll have tohead over to one of the four peaks of the map or the western part of the snow biome. All of these areas contain a bunch of Crystal nodes, but the best place to get them is the volcano mountain, which is the west-most mountain in the northern part.
You’llneed a flyer if you want to get to the middle of this mountainsince the normal path is filled with dangers.

It’s easy to find crystals on any of the mountains in the game, but it’s not as easy to locate them in the snow biome. If you’re heading there, stay near theicy ground beside the higher structures and you’ll find crystal nodes tucked on their edges. The best way to farm these nodes is by using an Ankylosaurus.
However,you’re able to also use a high-tier Metal Pick to get them. You’ll save a lot of time if you tame an Argentavis and an Ankylosaurus and use their combination to get the Crystal.
