You can take an active role in the community by fulfilling requests, running errands, and completing quests for your neighbors. Once in a while, you’ll receive mail from a townie asking for an item.

Eventually, you’ll get mail from Jim. His request is specific, but the instructions are vague. It can take a lot of trial and error to find what you’re looking for. Thankfully, we’ve done the work for you so you can check this quest off your to-do list sooner.

How To Unlock The Night Fish Quest

In Fall of your first year, you’ll getmail from Jimasking you to deliver Arapaima for him. Hegives vague instructionson how to find the fish, but no specifics to go off of. Unless you’ve been fishing regularly, you may not knowwhere to look and how to catch one.

Certain fish havespecific times of year when they can be caught, specifically rare fish like Arapaima. Outside of that season, you’ll have to wait foranother opportunity to come around,so you could be stuck with this quest for quite some timeif you don’t act fast.

Where To Find Arapaima

To find Arapaima, you’ll need towait until after sunset–which is around 5:00PM–in Fall or Winterin-game. You’ll need to havesnowy or rainy weatherin order to fish an Arapaima out ofthe forest river.

If you’re a beginner, it cantake a few minutes to reel in a rare fish. Be patient and take your time. In our experience, it took over two minutes tocarefully reel inan Arapaima.

If you have a more advanced fishing rod, it can be a lot easier to do so.

Once you’ve caught your fish, you canhead off to find Jim. He’ll thank you for completing his request, and you can continue with your day.
