No matter which dinosaur-filled world you’re talking about, Rex will always be one of the scariest creatures because of its massive body and intimidating roar. This is the same forArk: Survival Ascended, where you might not see as many Rexes in the wild, but you’ll regret getting close to one if you aren’t prepared.
On the other hand, you’ll also be able to rule this world if you manage to tame a good-level Rex. There are quite a few things that you need to keep in mind if you’re planning to attempt to battle this giant creature and come out victorious.
How To Tame A Rex
The first step in the process of taming any dinosaur is finding one. Unfortunately,there isn’t a particular place you can go to if you want to find a Rex. They can spawn anywhere on the map, but are more common near river banks since they come over there to eat other smaller dinosaurs.
Once you find a location with Rex, you can keep defeating them and returning to the same spot until you find a good level. The hard part with that is that you can only find around one or two Rexes in a particular place,and there’s a slim chance that they’ll be a high enough level. You just have to keep defeating them and hope for the best.
It’s recommended to find two to three spawn locations andcycle between them if you’re trying to tame a Rex.

The trap method doesn’t work as well on Rexes in Ark: Survival Ascendedsince their AI is quite good at avoiding them.
Moreover, if there are any creatures nearby,Rex will constantly get distracted by them, which makes it difficult to run it into the trap.
If you’re trying out the third method, ensure you defeat the Herbivore first as the Rex starts running since theTaming Effectiveness goes down if it gets attacked while unconscious. Once knocked out, simply give it some high-level Kibble, Prime Meat, or Raw Meat, and make sure it’s protected while the taming bar fills.
You can craft a Rex Saddle and ride it once you fully tame one.
Rex Uses In Ark: Survival Ascended
As an apex predator who dominated the dinosaur world when it existed, Rex is one of the greatest fighters thatyou can use to battle every creature in the game no matter its size. Its attacks easily knock back most of the creatures, preventing them from dealing damage to you whatsoever. You can even damage smaller creatures with your footsteps.
On pressing the secondary action, Rex lets out a roar that’s primarily used to make nearby creatures defecate in fear,however,these creatures also start running away from you after. If you stop riding a Rex, you’ll stand on top of it and be able to use all the items in your inventory.
