The history of the Old Faith inCult Of The Lambis intentionally murky. Centuries, if not millennia, of dogma mixed with a forest full of ancient, unknowable beings means that only the Feathered Sages know anything about the world prior to the coming of the Bishops.
The Sins Of The Flesh update added several hidden Lore Tablets that can be found while the Lamb is on Crusade. Like everything in the game’s dungeons, they’re randomly placed; not only that, but they’re easy to miss. Knowing what to look for will help you fill out your collection of forbidden lore.
Where Are The Ancient Tablets?
There arefifteen Lore Tablets in total. The only way to find them is to stumble upon them in a dungeon, but by paying attention to clues in the environment, you can track them down much more easily.
Hidden Altars
Ten of the fifteen are located athidden altars of the Red Crown.Look for a small icon of the Crown in each room that you enter; it’s small, gray until activated, and often obscured by breakables, so be thorough!
Since dungeons are randomly-generated, there’s no sure way to know if you’re going to find a tablet. If you don’t find one, the only solution is to go on another Crusade and try again.
When you find the icon,hit it with your equipped Curseto activate it. A door will open in theupper-left corner of the current room.Inside is the Alter, where you mustsacrifice a full Red Heartto receive the Tablet inside.
Graveyards
Two of the Lore Tablets take the form ofletters buried in a graveyard.Look forQuestion Mark Nodeson the Crusade Map; these won’t always be a graveyard, but that’s the only way to find one.
At the graveyard,exhume all the bodies;one will have a bloody letter. The second letter can be exhumed on your next visit.
NPC Encounters
The last three Tablets are received from NPCs that you’ll meet in dungeons. This is very rare, so your best bet is tocheck every single roomwhenever you’re on Crusade.
What Do Ancient Tablets Do?
Collecting the Tablets is purely to get more of the game’s Lore. While they won’t help you tend to your Flock or make you any more powerful on Crusade, collecting them all earns theHolder Of HistoryAchievement / Trophy.
