Whether you’re assisting a scholar in the Underdark, teaming up with the Emperor, or siding with the Absolute, there are plenty of ways to help the mind flayers (with varying degrees of success).
The difference is about whether the mind flayer is part of the hive mind or not. When you get the opportunity to see a newly transformed mind flayer yourself, you may choose to be an ally or squash the threat completely. You’ll just have to use your brain.
Where Is The Mind Flayer In Rivington?
You canfind the mind flayer in the Abandoned Windmill, up the hill to the right of the checkpoint. You’ll have to pick the lock to enter and climb down the hatch to find him.

If you plan on killing the mind flayer,attacking while it sleepsis the best option.

Where To Find A Brain For The Mind Flayer?
You’ll have tobring the mind flayer a bodyto feed on (and it needs to be fresh). To do this, leave the windmill andseek out a victim.
Any victim will do, so long as youpick up the bodyand add it to your inventory. Be careful not to get caught by the guards, or you may find yourself in a heap of trouble and needing toescape from prison.
There’s a couple having a picnic just outside the windmill. They’re luckily secluded, and using turn-based mode can help eliminate them quickly.
When you bring the body back to the mind flayer, you’ll be rewarded with theRing of Truthfulness, which gives youadvantage on Insight Ability Checks.
