Spoilers ahead!

The Ending, Explained

When you finally destroy the charge set to destroy the western frontier, you and Teylan barely escape the facilityand leave Mercer behind in the destruction. Teylan gets into the Scorpion with Ri’nela and your ikran saves you from certain destruction. Together, you reconnect with everyone overlooking the forests of Pandora.

Ri’nela and Alma talk about the future of Na’vi, and whileAlma wants to start fresh as a family, there’s simply too much hurt from the TAP program and the past to do so. Instead,Ri’nela talks about walking a new pathto rebuild the Sarentu clanwithout letting the scars of the past influence the future.

Mercer Looking into the camera, Teylan behind him

Alma is proud of youand the others, and will be welcomed as an ally. You follow Ri’nela and Teylan to the edge of the cliffs with a bright and unclear future ahead of you.Ri’nela will likely lead the Sarentu clanas you rebuild it, and Teylan will discover what becoming Sarentu means to him. As for you, you’re free to do as you wish.

Does Mercer Die?

After you race to get Teylan away from the charge, you finallyconfront Mercer in the RDA facility. Teylan saves you from Mercer, pinning him to the wall with the mechanical arm. Youleave him there and fleewith Teylan before the charge goes off.

While it’s implied thatJohn Mercer dies in the explosion, since he’s directly next to the charge, the game doesn’t explicitly show his death. Instead, you mention thatMercer is gone and will never hurt anyone again, so it’s safe to say thatMercer is dealt with.

Nor and So’lek Avatar Frontiers of Pandora

What Happened To Nor?

After Nor attacks Alma’s Avatar body,he runs off and you won’t see him again. Even at the end, he’s nowhere to be found. When Nor ran off, he was quite angry and hurt about learning the truth of his past. He has suffered the most emotionally at the hands of the RDA, having beenold enough to remember the clanand his life before TAP.

It should also be noted thatNor makes comments about feeling distant from Eywadue to his human upbringing, and didn’t want to connect to Eywa out of fear his memories would taint her.

This furtherisolates him from the Na’viand the Sarentu.

As for where Nor went, it’s unclear. He felt betrayed by Almafor murdering the Sarentu families and Aha’ri, and betrayed by you, So’lek, and the Resistance for not agreeing that Alma’s Avatar needed to die for her crimes. His actions led him toleave the Resistance altogether, without any word as to where he went.
