The Playing for Time quest inCyberpunk 2077is the first main job in Act Two of the game. The quest is available to all players, irrespective of the path and ending that they choose further down the line. After the events of ‘Love Like Fire,’ the quest takes off with V in an injured state at the municipal dumpster.
Unlike some other quests, the Playing for Time quest has a lot of cutscenes and story development, so there aren’t many complicated choices involved in this mission. Need to know all the details? Keep reading.

How To Start The Playing For Time Quest In Cyberpunk 2077
At the start of the mission, V willwake up at the Municipal Landfillunder a heap of trash and rubble. Start by removing the trash on top of you, you will not be able to walk, which is why you will have tocrawl through the large piles of trash. The only obvious way out is the path on your right.
There aren’t any other options for you to explore, which is why this part of the mission is fairly straightforward.Keep following the indicatorson your screen.

Start crawling to your leftuntil you see two silhouettes in the distance walking towards you. As the two people approach V, he will black out.
Once youregain consciousness, you will see yourself being dragged by one of the two men who found you. As yousit there on your back, you will soon recognize the two men as Dexter and Takemura. While Dexter talks,Takemura will shoot himand approach you.

You will onlyhave one dialogue interactionwith Takemura as he briefs Arasaka about the situation, but it doesn’t change the story in any way.
Once the interaction is complete,Takemura will knock you outby hitting you and take you to his car.
How To Complete The Bike Chase In Playing For Time
As you space out again in Takemura’s car,he will eventually wake you upon the highway asking for your help. To help you recover,he will give you an Airhypo. As soon as you use the Airhypo, a few assassins will approach the car riding on bikes. This will update your mission objective to ‘Nutrilize the Motorcycles.’
After you encounter the assassins,Takemura will give you a pistolwhich you’re able to use to target the motorcycles. You will not have any other weapons at this moment so you mustmake do with the pistolfor now.
The motorcycles and their riders are tough, so it is best tokeep your aim steadyand target them one by one. You will need quite a few bullets to take them down.
Once you have neutralized all motorcycles, the last assassin chasing youwill jump on top of the carin an attempt to target you. Now, your objective will update to‘Survive the attack.’In a scripted car crash, Takemura will sandwich the assassin between a barrier and the car.
This will cause significant injuries to him and you. As Takemura drags you out of the car, he will instruct you toremain conscious and call someonewho can give you both some medical care. Here you mustcall Delamain,so he can pick you up and take you to Viktor.
Before the dialogue with Takemura, you will also have an encounter with the assassin as you lay down. You will be able toshoot the crushed assassinto finish him off.
How To Complete Playing For Time Quest In Cyberpunk 2077
Once your call with Delamain is over, you will lose consciousness. As youget to Vik, you will periodicallywake up to a few cutscenesbetween Vik, Delamain, and Takemura. When you finally wake up you willtalk to Vikin a dialogue about your condition.
Vik will tell you that the Shard had a personality construct on it which is making yourelive the memories of Jhonny Silverhand. In the end, Vik will tell you that Jhonny’s construct in the biochip will soonoverride your consciousnessin a few weeks.
After the conversation with Vik is complete,call Misty, who will take you to your apartment. She will alsogive you two pill bottles, a blue one and an orange one to either suppress or boost Jhonny’s construct inside you.
As you lay down to sleep you willwake up twice and encounter Jhonny. During the first interaction, Jhonny will mess with the biochip in your head. In the second interaction, you will have totake a pill from the blue bottleto suppress his presence.
When you wake up for the third time, your mission objective will change to‘Leave the apartment.’
You will also have severaloptional mission objectives to completebefore leaving the apartment. These missionobjectives includestocking up on ammo, finding something to eat, putting on some clothes, and checking your emails.
When you are ready to leave the apartment, you willget a call from Takemurainviting you to Tom’s Diner. Once the call ends,follow your waypointand get to Tom’s Diner to meet Takemura.
During the conversation,you and Takemura will join forcesto take revenge on Yorinobu Arasaka and find a solution for the chip inside you. This conversation willtrigger two main jobs, Automatic Love and Ghost Town.
After the conversation ends,you will also encounter Jhonnyat Tom’s Diner, who will agree to work with V, so they can help each other.
