Summary
The western frontier is an expansive continent where the RDA presence threatens the natural balance of things. As Na’vi, your connection to your home compels you to act and stop the threat by uniting the other clans in the surrounding areas to fight back against the human invaders seeking to destroy Pandora for profit.
The world ofAvatar: Frontiers Of Pandorais exciting and inviting. However, despite the engaging biomes and unique environments, there are some aspects of it that just don’t make sense. Here, we’ll dive in to the things that made the least sense in the game and somewhat broke the immersion.

10Directions Don’t Exist
If you want to explore the western frontier yourself, forget following directions entirely. You’ll have to navigate all by yourself without any help from the map or trackers. The Na’vi will give you an idea of where to look, but you’ll be completely lost if you don’t pay attention.
Thankfully, you can turn this setting on an off as need be. However, even with assistance, the UI compass won’t show you where to go exactly. Your Na’vi senses can only help so much, and setting custom markers is essential to not getting lost (but you can only set one).

9None Of The RDA Soldiers Care About Pollution
Sure, the Resistance is made up of former RDA soldiers, but the ones that are still employed don’t seem to care at all about the devastation around them. It’s hard to believe that none of them care at all, let alone comment on the excessive pollution.
In fact, many of the RDA seem to revel in the destruction of the planet. To see the unique and diverse environments around them and feel nothing at all, not even a shred of discomfort at tearing up the land, is baffling. You’d think at least a few soldiers would disagree with the tactics.

8Contributing To Clan Donations Equals New Hair Colors
Sure, you can dye your hair in the real world, but there’s no indication that the Na’vi have a similar process. However, you can unlock new hairstyles and colors by contributing to the different clan baskets. The hairstyles make sense, but the colors do not.
Imagine bringing a meal for a potluck and your reward is that your natural hair color changes entirely. I’m not complaining, especially since you can unlock auburn hair from the Zeswa, but it doesn’t really make sense–especially when no one comments on it.

7All Enemies Know Exactly Where You Are When Spotted
One of the most frustrating things that makes no sense is how enemies detect you. If even one person sees you, suddenly the entire area is on alert and knows exactly where you are. you may’t hide, and breaking the line of sight does almost nothing.
Even if you fire an arrow and miss, enemies will notice the arrow and spot you almost instantly. You can thankfully wait things out and watch the enemies eventually lose interest, but they’ll still be on the lookout and possibly raise the alarm, bringing in more reinforcements.

6How Quickly Nature Retakes Outposts
A major part of the game issabotaging RDA outpoststo stop pollution, access areas, and progress the story. You’ll spend a while doing so, but the thing that doesn’t make sense is how quickly the forests and plains reclaim the outposts.
You’ll watch a brief custcene of the RDA fleeing the outpost, followed by wildlife coming back to the area now that it’s healed, but it’s unclear how long that takes. Based off of how quickly you move on, it seems like a matter of minutes.

5Some NPCs Wait Forever
NPCs are known for waiting around, as their world often revolves around you. However, with the nature of the questlines, you’re likely to forget about a handful of people in your quest to save Pandora and the western frontier from the RDA. Some characters will request your help, and you may leave them waiting as long as you’d like.
When you eventually meander back to them, they’re happy to pick up where you left off, regardless of how many days or months have passed in-game.

4Your Ikran Can Change Colors
You can bond with your own ikran as part of the main story, at which point you can design them however you like. You can even name them, which you cannot change later. However, the appearance of your ikran can change.
Considering that the bond between a Na’vi and an ikran is essentially sacred, being able to completely change your ikran looks at any moment is odd. While it encourages you to find new skins, it does break some of the immersion to have a color-changing ikran in a world where they all stay the same.

3Your Appearance Can Completely Change, And No One Notices
In the same vein as the ikran, your character’s appearance, voice, and body can change at any point. While character customization is a great way to embrace the different Na’vi cultures, it does feel odd to completely change your appearance halfway through the game.
When you’re part of the Sarentu clan, it breaks the immersion to transform your character into one that resembles the Zeswa or Kame’tire when your fellow Sarentu stay the same throughout. However, since you rarely even see your character from first person POV, you can overlook it for the most part.

2You Can’t Sell Or Trade Old Gear For New Items
You’ll acquire plenty of gear as you play through the game, whether you earn them as rewards, craft them, or find them lying around. However, it makes no sense that you may’t sell gear to anyone. There’s really nothing todo with old gear, other than donate it or drop it.
You canearn clan favorto purchase new items or use spare parts to trade for more, but you don’t have an option sell anything. The clans need to work together to stop the RDA, and you’d think that would include trading old gear.

1No One Actually Helps You During Battles
Despite the clans having to work together, you’re basically on your own throughout the game. There are a few instances where the other clans say they’ll help, but that’s mostly in the form of cutscenes and off-camera escapades. Unless you’re playing multiplayer with a friend, you’ll be facing the RDA alone.
It makes no sense since the game emphasizing working together and tackling the pollution problem, and many sections of the game could benefit from having NPCs intervene and help you out, but no such thing happens.
