Last year,EAaskedThe Sims 4players to vote between a Medieval Castle or High Tech Futurism pack. Fantasy won, leaving fans eagerly awaiting some kind of update. Seven months later, one finally arrived thanks to an accidental leak on the EA app.
As reported bySims Community, the listing calls it the “Castle Estate Kit” and comes with two screenshots. The first shows a giant gleaming grey castle with a moat and portcullis gate. The second shows a more intimate, closer look at a gothic, black-and-grey castle, with a couple standing on the balcony beside statues of knights as they flirt with each another.

Capture the classic grandeur of a castle with The Sims 4 Castle Estate Kit. This community-voted collection features stone walls, leaded glass, and everything you need to create the perfect dramatic backdrop for your next story.
Build something grand - get inspired by the majesty of castles, and build gothic arches, stackable ornate windows, grand staircases, gorgeous stonework, and a large portcullis gate. It’s all about the gravitas.
It’ll cost the usual £4.99 (or £4.49 if you have EA Play), but the release date is still a mystery. Right now, it’s listed as July 03, 2025. But withThe Sims 5 on the horizon, I doubt its predecessor will be getting updates in 75 years.
It’s clearly a placeholder, but given that the page accidentally went live ahead of an official announcement, launch is likely imminent.
As reported byEurogamer, that leaves another community vote in the wings. Not only did players pick fantasy kingdoms over sci-fi hovels, but they also voted for Goth Fashion over Rainbow Core.
With the two votes being held together, the packs may launch together, too. Until EA announces either, we can only speculate. But at least we can be content knowing that we’ll soon be able to dress up our Sims like Nev Campbell in The Craft, watching them live out their life in luxury castles.
In the meantime, there’s a new expansion out calledFor Rent. As you can probably guess, it lets you turn your sims into tenants and landlords, moving around while you build up the funds to buy property or splashing out to gobble up the housing market. It’s £34.99 like any expansion, but it isn’t going down well with the community.
It has an Overwhelmingly Negative review score on Steam, with many citing the game-breaking bugs and fractured lots, comparing the DLC to the also-infamous Apartments expansion. If you want something new in The Sims while you wait for the castle life, it might tie you over, but many are unhappy with the state that it’s in.
