Summary

Palworldhas absolutely taken the world by storm. While there is a ton of controversy surrounding the game’s releasewith respect to potential plagiarism,it’s undeniable that the game clicked with people. It appears that a nice-looking, open-world, monster-catching survival game is fun. Who would have thought?

At the time of writing this, there areover 100 Pals available in the game. These Pals come in all shapes and sizes, so they can give new players choice paralysis. Here are the strongest Pals to make things easier.

Palworld: Frostallion boss amidst glaciers with its wings open

10Frostallion

Cryolinx is a pure Ice Pal, and it is the only Ica Pal on this list as well. While Ice is not as abysmal in Palworld as it is in Pokemon, the Ice Pals, unfortunately, tend to be a bit weak. Luckily,Frostallionis the exception to that rule.

Frostallion’s Partner Skill Ice Steed is great; it turns Frostallion into a flying mount and boosts Ice attacks while mounted. This is a primarily ranged Pal, as its Shot Attack is better than its melee Attack. Ice is also strong against Dragon, an element that most extremely strong Pals have, so Frostallion can definitely help with those.

Palworld: Suzaku flying in its Paldeck entry picture

9Suzaku

This is a pure Fire Pal and can pack a sizable punch. Fire is likely the best overall Element in the game due to being strong against two Elements as opposed to One. While the Element is a great asset,Suzakuhas much more to offer.

To begin with, Suzaku’s Partner Skill allows you to ride it and fly to your heart’s content. This is great for any Pal, and Suzaku is definitely one of the faster flying mounts. Its Active SkillsFire BallandFlare Stormare extremely strong and will melt the HP of any boss you’re having trouble with.

Player with his Grizzbolt Pal in Palworld

8Grizzbolt

Grizzbolthas been on a lot of promotional material and acted like asort of mascotfor the whole game with his iconic minigun. It’s also the first tower boss you’ll have to fight, so you might have thought Grizzbolt is only an early-game powerhouse. However, Grizzbolt is one of the strongest Pals in the whole game.

Grizzbolt’s Partner Skill Yellow Tank allows you to ride it as it wields a minigun. This tank of a Pal has great stats and devastating Active Skills, namelyLightning BoltandLightning Strike. Do not be fooled by how early you may encounter this Pal, as it’s quite strong throughout the game.

Palworld: Necromus looking menacing

Grizzbolt has great Work Suitability, too, including Handiwork, Lumbering, and Generating Electricity. So feel free toleave it at your base, especially if you’ve begun automation.

7Necromus

Necromusis the first half of the duo Knights of Legend, specifically the Dark Knight of Legend. This late-game Pal is absolutely devastating in combat but is just as useful as a mount, too. Necromus can jump twice when mounted, and a double jump is extremely helpful while traversing and exploring.

Necromus' real strength is its combat capability, though. This Pal has incredible stats for an attacker and will be useful throughout any region thanks to its pure Dark Element. With an amazing combo of Active Skills inDark LaserandTwin Spears, few Pals will be standing after a few seconds of combat.

Palworld: Anubis getting ready to shoot an energy beam

6Anubis

Anubisis a Ground Pal and is by far the best one you can get your hands on. You’ll actually see its likeness very early on, as it’s depicted in the Statue of Power. Once you capture a real one, though, your game will bust wide open in terms of power.

Anubis has an incredible offensive stat of 130, both for Melee and Ranged attacks. This makes it extremely strong and versatile, especially when you get the skillsRock LanceandGround Smash. It also has an incredible Partner Skill, which applies Ground damage to the player’s attacks as well. Situationally, this thing is unbeatable, but it’s still amazing in most cases, regardless.

Palworld: Blazamut looking scary in its Paldex entry image

Anubis hasHandiwork Lv4,so you should let it out as soon as you’re crafting anything.

5Blazamut

Blazamutis another pure Fire Pal. We’ve mentioned how the Fire Element is likely the best one, so this is a great start. On top of it, Blazamut has an astronomical Melee Attack with 150. You can also ride it around, which is great. Blazamut really is a jack of all trades, but he just so happens to be the master of a few, too.

Another great thing about Blazamut is that it gets some coverage naturally with the SkillsStone BlastandRock Lance. It also gets the quintessential Fire SkillFire Ball, so not much is sacrificed for coverage. This is a reliable Pal through and through, so be sure to grab one if you can.

Palworld: Paladius jumping in mid air holding a shielda

4Paladius

Paladiusis the shining counterpart to Necromus. Its title is the Holy Knight of Legend, and it is a pure Neutral type. Unlike Necromus, Paladius' stats lean a bit more towards Defense. This is a Pal that’s really hard to take down, and it’s strong for that reason alone.

Paladius has the best Neutral Skills but can also use some Ice Skills for coverage. Skills likeSpear ThrustandBlizzard Spikeare musts for it. You can also ride Paladius, and it gets a triple jump, making it an amazing mount on top of an amazing battler.

Palworld: Shadowbeak flying through the air under the sun

3Shadowbeak

Dark may be the second-strongest Element under Fire since it can hit Neutral Pals effectively, and there’s a huge abundance of Neutral Pals in the game. This, combined with incredible offensive stats and a surprising bulk, putsShadowbeakon the top tier.

Shadowbeak has one of the best Partner Skills in the game, boosting Dark attacks and letting you ride it and fly. As soon as you get one, Shadowbeak should likely be your primary flying mount. It doesn’t have much coverage, only learning Dark Skills, but it learns the essential Dark Skills and hits like a truck, so it’s hardly an issue.

Palworld: Jormuntide Ignis looking focused and Jormuntide with its eyes closed

You can use the Skill Fruits you find to teach Pals Active Skills they normally wouldn’t. This is great to get some coverage on your strongest Pals.

2Jormuntide And Jormuntide Ignis

JormuntideandJormuntide Ignisare the two sides of one coin, with one being Dragon/Water and the other Dragon/Fire. Luckily, no matter the Element, Jormuntide is incredibly strong. It’s a bit lacking in bulk, but it makes up for that via devastating attacks.

Regular Jormungir has a Partner Skill that allows you to move over water indefinitelywithout losing Staminawhen mounted on it. Conversely, Jormungir Ignis enhances Fire attacks while mounted. The funny thing is, you can have both forms of Jormungir on your team, and they’ll both be equally useful and strong, so you don’t even have to choose!

Palworld: Jetragon flying through the air

You can get Jormuntide Ignis and otheralternate element Pals through Breeding.

1Jetragon

Jetragonis arguably the best Pal in the game, as it’s amazing at almost everything. It’s a pure Dragon Pal, which is useful in the late game as there are tons of Dark Pals running around, against which Jetragon is strong. It has an amazing Shot Attack stat at 140 and one of the most broken Partner Skills in the game.

Aerial Missile, Jetragon’s Partner skill, allows you to ride it as a flying mount. Oh, and it will rapidly fire missiles at enemies. This thing is basically a fighter jet that you’re able to pet. Jetragon even gets some coverage Skills likeFlare StormandFire Ballon top of its usual Dragon Skills. Be ready to absolutely terrorize bosses with this thing, especially if they’re grounded.

Palworld

WHERE TO PLAY

Palworld has been described as Pokemon with guns and well, it’s hard to argue with that. The game is very similar in nature to the Pokemon formula, tasking you with catching and working with monsters called Pals. There are key differences, though. Palworld is rooted in multiplayer, oh, and, unlike Pokemon, its Pals have guns.
