InFootball Manager 2024, you’re able to control any team from hundreds of different options and potentially manage thousands of players if you have the time. Some teams are very straightforward to manage.
These teams start with large budgets and some of the best players in the game. These are some ofthe best teamsin the game. However, if you’re looking for a challenge, like a road to glory or something similar, there are a lot of great teams with rich histories that have fallen into obscurity in recent years. These teams are challenging yet fun to manage.

7Paris FC
Every football fan knows Paris Saint-Germain. It is one of the most popular football clubs in the world. It has been home to some of the biggest names in football, both past and present, including players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and one of the greatest, Lionel Messi.
However, you may have yet to learn of their local rivals, Paris FC. Regional rivalries in football are significant, and they can get heated whenever two football clubs from the same city clash in any competition.

With that said, Paris FC and PSG won’t be having any significant clashes, as Paris FC does not have the success or financial backing that PSG has. It would be an exciting challenge to try to get Paris FC to the same level as PSG and make the derby matches more interesting. However, you first need to get them in the same league, as Paris FC currently plays in the second tier of French football and PSG is in the top tier.
6Luton Town
Luton has recently been promoted through the English league system from the Championship to the Premier League, the most popular football league in the world and arguably the most competitive. It is not unheard of for teams to gain promotion and immediately get relegated that same year.
However, Luton is ambitious and wants to stay in the Premier League and compete for a spot. Taking over this team and keeping them in the league will be challenging enough, as the Premier League is filled with some of the best teams and players in the game. Still, if you can keep them in the league and build on that, you can even go on to win many prestigious trophies and be hailed as one of the greatest managers of all time.

5Wrexham
Wrexham came into the spotlight after they were purchased by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, two Hollywood megastars. Through strategic cash injections and brilliant player signings and management, they managed to gain promotion from the Vanarama National League to the EFL League 2.
There’s still a long way to go before they face the giants in the Premier League, but they could also skip back down to the National League. It’s your job to keep the success rolling and get them to the pinnacle of football success internationally and on the world stage.

4Schalke 04
Schalke was once one of the biggest teams in the German leagues and is still very popular in Germany. However, these days, they’re struggling to stay in the Bundesliga, and as of the release of Football Manager 2024, they’re in the second tier of German football.
You could take over the team and get them promoted back to the Bundesliga, but that’s where the real work begins. You will then have to get them back to their former glory against the top Bundesliga sides, and you could potentially surpass their previous successes if you’re a good enough manager.

3FC Porto
Porto is an ever-present force in the Portuguese top-flight football league. Still, they have not tasted continental success for many years, and even their chances of domestic success are constantly challenged by the other two top teams in the country.
You could take over as manager and settle doubts about who the best Portuguese team is before looking outward and gunning for European success. The real challenge lies here: you will face teams like PSG, Bayern, Manchester City, and Real Madrid. If you make the right moves, you could beat all these teams and reclaim the top spot in Europe again.

2Everton
Everton has been the staple of mediocrity in the Premier League for many years. It is especially disheartening when you consider that their local rivals, Liverpool, have established themselves as one of the best teams in England and Europe with very recent success both domestically and continentally. At the same time, Everton struggles through each season only to finish in mid-table spots or just above the relegation zone.
You could be the one to change all of that. This process may be slow and meticulous because Everton doesn’t have strong financial backing. However, with the properstrategic transfer navigationandbrilliant tactical setups, you and Everton could steadily climb to the top of football.

Everton could do with a bit more creativity across the pitch. Try looking out for a solid ball-playing defender and a creative midfielder.
1Athletic Bilbao
Athletic Bilbao is among the most consistent teams in the Spanish top flight and consistently ranks among the best teams in the country. However, they could be better. With you in charge, this could change.
You would have to consistently compete with teams like Atlético Madrid, Barcelona, and Real Madrid locally and eventually with Manchester City, PSG, and Bayern continentally. Still, if you may pull it off, you will be the most outstanding manager the club has ever had.
There is one more twist that makes managing this club incredibly challenging. They have a strict recruitment policy that only allows you to sign players from the Basque region in Spain, where the club is local. With that said, you won’t have access to the vast ocean of free agent signings or any other kind of signing if they aren’t Basque.
On the plus side, the Basque region has produced a lot of exceptional talents, and the club’s youth academy is hailed as one of the best in the world.
