Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’sfirst season has released two new weapons with its Reloaded update, introducing the TAQ Evolvere LMG and HRM-9 SMG. The TAQ Evolvere trades fire rate for precision at all engagement ranges, similar to the TAQ 56 from Modern Warfare 2.
While this weapon doesn’t have the same range of attachment options as the Pulemyot 762 or DG-58 LSW, this weapon can perform quite well with the right build. Read on to learn how you can get your hands on the TAQ Evolvere and the best attachment combinations you can use on this accurate LMG.

Its 5.56 form now shoots faster, features better tac stance accuracy, and is better suited for aggressive playstyles. The 7.62 ammo type also received some changes, but it doesn’t impact our build recommendation. How To Unlock The TAQ Evolvere
The TAQ Evolvere is unlocked throughthe Armory Unlock system.You must completethree daily challengesin Multiplayer, MWZ, or Warzone to unlock this weapon. Armory Unlocks become available starting at Level 25.
7.62 TAQ Evolvere Build
The TAQ Evolvere is a double-edged sword. It has amazing base accuracy and headshot damage, a common theme with all TAQ weapons. Unfortunately,this weapon’s core attachments—barrels, rear grips, and stocks—are quite weak.You won’t be able to shift this weapon into a more aggressive LMG, at least in its 7.62 form, but you may give it some more generic buffs.
We suggest using theSA Kilonova Stockfor any build, as this gives a substantial boost to your aiming stability and firing stability at the cost of strafe speed. TheSL Skeletal Vertical Gripwill buff the gun’s sluggish ADS speed, and theShadowstrike Suppressorwill keep you off enemy radar. Useany opticto complete the core of the build.
The final attachment is mostly down to preference. The50 Round 762 Beltgreatly buffs the weapon’s handling stats at the cost of magazine capacity, a non-issue for core Multiplayer. If you prefer a larger magazine, you can equip alaser or rear gripattachment in its place.
Loadout Recommendations
Since LMGs are ill-suited for aggressive gameplay, you’ll ideally want to use a stealth build to keep off enemy radar. TheAssassin Vestwill give you a permanent version of the Ghost perk, persisting even while stationary.Covert Sneakersare recommended since they eliminate your character’s footstep audio, but feel free to use any boot perk.
For gear,EODis a great pick. UseQuick-Fix Glovesto quickly swap weapons for when an enemy gets close to you.Pair this build with a good close-range secondaryto cover all engagement ranges. As for equipment,Throwing Knives and Stimsare perfect for all content.
5.56 TAQ Evolvere Build
The TAQ Evolvere can use 5.56 ammunition by changing its magazine attachment,drastically increasing its rate of fire and tac stance accuracy.The increased accuracy is notable because this weapon has best-in-class strafe speed. Throw on the right attachments, and you may give this weapon the mobility of an SMG but with the lethality of an LMG.
Tac stance accuracy is the most important stat on this build. TheFSS Combat Grip, Bruen Tactical Vertical Grip, 1mw Laser Box, and S-37C DL Breacher Devicelower this weapon’s tac stance accuracy angle to 1.2 degrees.This makes the TAQ Evolvere accurate up to roughly 25 meters.Paired with the weapon’s high strafe speed, you’ll outgun most assault rifles with some practice. Aim center mass and let the recoil naturally climb up.
While this build doesn’t use a suppressed weapon, you’ll still want to eliminate footstep audio at all times. That is why we recommend theNinja Vest, as it gives you Covert Sneakers for free. This frees up your boot slot for another perk, preferablyStalker Bootsto further increase your strafe speed. This make the TAQ Evolvere strafe faster than most SMGs in Modern Warfare 3.
Since this is an LMG, we recommend usingMag Holsterto reduce its reload time. It’s not a significant reduction, but it makes this build feel much faster for aggressive playstyles. Alternatively, you can useEODorTac Mask. Use theMed Boxto give yourself a shorter HP regeneration delay, and bringThrowing Knivesfor quick one-hit kills against close targets.
