The Striker 9 is one ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’snew SMGs. It fires absurdly fast, has controllable recoil, and has many unique barrel and stock attachments to choose from. Yet even with all of this weapon’s options, the Striker 9 struggles to compete due to its low range stat and mediocre damage output.

While it won’t redefine the meta, the Striker 9 can be turned into a powerful mid-range weapon with the right build. This guide will showcase how to make the Striker 9 a solid SMG for all Multiplayer content, covering the best attachment options and perks to run with this weapon.

Updated July 09, 2025, by Charles Burgar:The Striker 9 has seen a small rework with a balance update in MW3’s second season. You can now ADS while sliding with this weapon, and its range has been adjusted to make it far deadlier at close range. We’ve updated this guide to include a new build for the Striker 9 that takes advantage of these buffs, making it an SMG alternative to the BP50.

Accuracy Striker 9 Build

The Striker 9 features more vertical recoilthan its bigger brother, so we recommendbuilding this gun for firing aim stability, gun kick control, and range. All three aspects can easily be increased through the use of a few Striker-specific attachments, namely theStriker Elite Long BarrelandLachmann Recon Series Stock.

Both attachments will greatly improve the weapon’s stability and overall recoil. To make the gun more effective at longer distances, we use theSonic Suppressor Sto increase the weapon’s bullet velocity and damage falloff values. Paired with the barrel, this gun can fight targets at medium distances with little issue. We also use a50 Round Drumto make multikills easier to pull off.

Adding such a massive magazine does hurt the Striker 9’s handling, however, so we recommend using an underbarrel to fix that. TheSL Skeletal Vertical Gripis perfect, increasing your ADS speed while simultaneously lowering your vertical recoil. With all five attachments equipped, the Striker 9 becomes incredibly consistent at all ranges thanks to its minimal recoil and tight bullet spread.

Loadout Recommendations

SMG builds ideally want to use theInfantry Vestto gain the effects of Running Sneakers for free. The doubled tactical sprint duration and lower cooldown make for a much more agile loadout. For perks,Ghostis a must with any suppressed weapon, completely hiding you from enemy radar if you’re moving.Covert Sneakersare also mandatory since they muffle your footstep audio.Assault Glovesare useful for players that frequently jumpshot.

Your equipment is mostly down to preference, so feel free to use anything you like. Objective game modes can make great use of theTrophy SystemorA.C.S.Field Upgrades. Aggressive playstyles should also use theStimTactical to immediately regenerate any lost HP after a gunfight.

Stealth Striker 9 Build

MW3’s second season has greatly buffed the Striker 9, making itcomparable to the BP50in terms of overall TTK and mobility. This build focuses onincreasing its range and mobility.Since aggressive builds play best with a suppressor, we start by equipping theColossus Suppressor. The small recoil reduction is needed for the next attachment we use.

9mm High Grain Roundsgrant a massive 15% range increase, but your recoil is noticeably increased. We can compensate for this with theStriker Elite Long Barrel, further extending our range in the process. With both attachments, you’re able to land afive-shot kill from 20 meters, which is quite impressive for a fast-firing SMG. For even more recoil reduction, we use theSakin ZX Grip.

The weapon now has solid recoil and great range, yet its mobility is still lacking. That is why we equip theFTAC MSP-98 Handstopfor the final attachment. This will greatly improve the Striker 9’s strafe speed while also lowering its vertical recoil. Stick to close and mid-range duels, and you’ll wipe the floor against most weapons in Modern Warfare 3. This SMG does poorly past 25 meters, however, so bring a long-range backup weapon.

TheNinja Vestis a great choice for an aggressive stealth build. This vest gives you the effects of Covert Sneakers for free while also making you immune to movement reduction effects like Stun Grenades.Throwing Knivesare also refilled every 25 seconds with this vest equipped, and you get to bring a spare knife.

Ghostwill ensure that you stay off enemy radar, provided you move every two seconds. Since Covert Sneakers are already covered, we can use a different boot perk to buff the build’s overall speed.Lightweight Bootsare what we recommend, but feel free to try different boot perks. For your secondary,we recommend theCOR-45.It can four-tap at any distance and can be customized to shoot at 750 RPM, giving it an absurdly fast TTK.
