Runelite has provided the platform and framework necessary forOld School Runescapeplayers to evolve from the nostalgic, but frankly limited, way the game used to be played. The days of being forced to play at 50 FPS, struggling to create some semblance of organization in your bank, or looking up step-by-step guides on every quest in the game are no more.
There is a staggering amount of plugins that Runelite has to offer, and if that gives you a sense of analysis paralysis, or you’re just curious to see if there are any quality-of-life features you might be missing out on, these plugins are a great place to start.
All plugins listed were evaluated based on their overall utility, quality of life improvements, and the community’s cumulative recommendations and usage statistics.
10GPU

9Combat Level
Once Combat Level is installed, simply click the “Show level range in wilderness” checkbox, and you’ll find a set range between two numbers, such as 123-126. This set of numbers indicates the combat level required for other players to attack you, depending on how deep in the wilderness you are.
The plugin updates in real time, accurately changing and displaying the level range, which abides by an inverse relationship; the higher the wilderness level, the lower other player’s combat levels need to be to attack you.
8Anti Drag
If you find yourself doing something really click-intensive, such as PKing, where you’re clicking on items or switching out gear in your inventory constantly, the last thing you’d want is to accidentally drag an item instead of equipping or using it.
With Anti Drag enabled, you won’t be able to drag your items, unless you specifically press down your mouse button over an item for a set amount of time of your choosing, such as three seconds. Alternatively, you can only allow dragging when you hold the Shift key if that’s preferable.
7Loot Tracker
Whether you’re bossing, engaging in some PvP, completing clue scrolls, or doing profitable PvE runs, Loot Tracker will keep track of every single item that drops from entities you’ve slain, including their individual and collective value.
This is especially convenient if you want to figure out the average profit of any activity you happen to be doing, without having to create and update a spreadsheet manually. Now, you’ll be able to prove to your friends in painstaking detail just how unlucky your Barrows runs have been.
6Boosts Information
For some bosses, especially those that can reduce your stats or require a variety ofstat-enhancing potions, every second counts. With Boosts Information, you won’t have to guess if your stats have been drained, or if you forgot to drink one of your potions.
Instead of having to flick between your inventory and stats pages, you’ll see the exact value of each stat, such as range or strength, next to your inventory. Stats that have been increased will display with green text, while those that have decreased will display with red text.
5Entity Hider
While Entity Hider tends to be most useful for PvP, especially if you want to be able to see your opponent when they’re standing on the same tile as you, this plugin can be useful for plenty of other content as well.
With Entity Hider, you’ll be able to hide yourself, other players, and even dead NPCs on your screen. If anything, you’ll be able to save yourself some FPS when you’re in player-heavy areas, such as the Grand Exchange, doing Wintertodt runs, ormining fallen stars.
4Bank Tag Layouts And Inventory Setups
Bank Tag Layouts and Inventory Setups save you plenty of time that’d otherwise be wasted sifting through your bank. Instead of being limited to just a few tabs at the top of your bank UI, and having row after row of items crammed together, you’ll be able to:
3Wilderness Player Alarm
The wilderness can be a very scary place, especially if you’re just trying to do a clue scroll or hunt some Black Chinchompas. Quite simply, Wilderness Player Alarm detects if players are near you within a set radius, up to 24 tiles away.
Once a player enters this radius, your screen will start to repeatedly flash a color of your choosing, immediately notifying you that it’s time to teleport away or start running for safety. This plugin is especially helpful if you aren’t using a second account or a friend to help scout for you.
2Ground Markers
Once installed, Ground Markers will let you mark any tile on your screen with a thin, brightly-colored outline by holding shift and right-clicking the tile you’d like to mark. If you mark some tiles and log out or leave the area, the plugin will keep track of what you’ve marked, so there’s no need to “re-mark” anything.
Ground Markers can be used for practically anything you’d need them for. Some popular applications include marking safe spots, or helping you avoid damage in various fights and arenas, such as Vorkath or the Inferno minigame. As a bonus, you can also import other player’s tile layouts if you want.
1Quest Helper
If you’re not using Quest Helper, it is time to become enlightened; gone are the days of painstakingly referring to and analyzing step-by-step wikis and guides that take up half your screen or a second monitor.
Instead, Quest Helper will add a helpful, guiding arrow on your world map and minimap, and a sidebar on the right side of your client listing item requirements, recommended items, enemies to defeat, and other relevant information. As you progress through a quest, each step you complete will automatically be crossed off, and the directional arrow will update if needed.
