If you’ve been playingHonkai: Star Railfor a while, you most likely know how broken the characters from the Harmony Path are. The four-star characters from this path were equally valuable as the five stars from other paths, but the game got its first limited five-star Harmony character during the Version 1.6 update.
The said character being Ruan Mei, one of the geniuses of the Herta Space Station who has Ice as a combat type. Ruan Mei’s kit is quite unique since it allows you to break the enemy’s weakness much faster.
Best Ruan Mei Relics And Planar Ornaments
As Honkai: Star Rail gets more updates, thenumber of Relics you can choose from for a certain character also increases. However, only a few of these Relics can suit Ruan Mei’s kit, and here’s everything you need to know about them:
Relics
Messenger Traversing Hackerspace
This Relic set is ideally the best in slot for Ruan Mei, but you’ll have to do quite a lot of work if you want to use it. Ruan Mei needsat least 180 percent Break Effect on her kit to fully use her Talent.
If you can get this Break Effect through the main and sub-stats, you can use this Relicset to give her and her team some extra SPD.
Thief of Shooting Meteor
If you’re struggling to get the right amount of Break Effect on Ruan Mei, you can use this set to get an extra 32 percent while alsogaining the ability to regenerate some Energy on Weakness Break.
This is also abeginner-friendly Relicsince you start getting it quite early.
Planar Ornaments
Penacony, Land of the Dreams
One of thebest teammates you can use with Ruan Mei is Jingliu, and that’s where you can also use this Ornament set. It gives her some Energy Regeneration Rate while also increasing Jingliu’s DMG.
Broken Keel
On the other hand, if you’re planning to use her with non-Ice units, Broken Keel becomes her best in slotbecause of the extra Crit DMG it gives to all your allies, including the main DPS.
It’s not difficult to build Relics for Ruan Mei, sogetting some Effect RES for her is easy as well.
Fleet of the Ageless
Finally, Fleet of the Ageless is a great beginner Ornament set since you may get it in the early worlds. It gives Ruan Mei some survivabilitywhile also increasing your entire team’s ATK.
Ruan Mei Relic Stat Priority
When you get a new character in Honkai: Star Rail, the hardest part about building them isgetting the correct main and sub-stats on the perfect sets. Thankfully, this isn’t too hard for Ruan Mei since she only needs a couple of stats to be good:
Break Effect / Energy Regeneration Rate
Break Effect > HP Percent > ATK Percent > SPD
The Link Rope’s main statdepends on your Light Cones and overall Relics.
If you have150 percent or more Break Effectwithout the Link Rope main stat, you can go for Energy Regeneration Rate.
Best Ruan Mei Light Cones
Honkai: Star Rail is a little restrictive when it comes to Light Cones since you canonly use the Light Cones that belong to the character’s path. However, Ruan Mei still has quite a few choices:
Past Self in Mirror
This is her signature Cone, and of course, the best in slot for her. Itgives her a whopping 60 percent Break Effect, making it much easier to build your Relics. Moreover, your allies gain extra DMG when she uses her Ultimate.
Finally, this can also help your entire team get their Ultimate faster since itincreases their Energy by ten at the start of every turn.
Memories of the Past
This is essentially the four-star version of her signature Light Cone,giving you a 56 percent Break Effect at the maximum Superimpose. While this might be close to the five-star version, the rest of the stats that it gives aren’t available here.
However, you canregenerate a bit of extra Energyevery time you attack an enemy.
Planetary Rendezvous
Once again, if you’re planning to use Ruan Mei with Jingliu or any other Ice DPS character, this can be a phenomenal Light Cone as itgives them a 24 percent increased DMG at Superimposition Five.
Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds
If you may get the premium tier of the battle pass, this Light Cone is an all-rounder for Harmony characters since itconstantly provides a random buff to your entire team.
Meshing Cogs
Finally, if you don’t have any of the above Light Cones,this is a great choice for Ruan Meisince it gives her a ton of extra Energy during battle.
Ruan Mei Trace Priority
Ruan Mei has an intricate set of Traces includingfive active ones that belong to her Basic Attack, Skill, Ultimate, Talent, and Technique, and three more Bonus Abilities. While you can read exactly what they do in the game, here are the main highlights:
With this in mind, you’d always want to upgrade herSkill first since the DMG bonus from it is quite important. This can be followed by her Ultimate and finally her Talent. you may upgrade her Basic Attack up to level four, but you don’t need to go further since she doesn’t deal a lot of damage anyway.
While using Ruan Mei, don’t shy away from breaking the enemy’s weakness with her since that will freeze them, whichessentially means that they can’t get a turn for the next three chances.
Is Ruan Mei Worth Pulling?
Out of all the Standard characters in Honkai: Star Rail,Bronya is the only one that consistently stays in the meta, and she belongs to the Harmony path. The same can be said about Ruan Mei since she not only brings in a unique aspect of faster Weakness Break, but also gives a ton of buffs to your entire team.
There’s no doubt that this character will stay in the meta for a long timesince it’ll be hard to power-creep her. However, that shouldn’t be the main reason for you to pull a character. If you think that her kit is fun and you’ll enjoy playing her, she’s definitely worth going for.
