The M4 has a full-auto shotgun variant inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and it’s arguably the game’s weirdest shotgun. It fires a measly four pellets per shot, but it has a wide range of unique attachments and build options.

While it can feel inconsistent at first, the right attachments can make the Riveter a terrifying full-auto shotgun that can double as a mid-range rifle. This guide will showcase two unique builds for the Riveter that make it a fantastic jack of all trades weapon, morphing it into a shotgun and marksman rifle hybrid that can compete in any gunfight.

Pros And Cons

Canted Aim Accuracy Bug

Using a canted sight on the Riveter completely removes projectile spread while ADS, effectively giving this weapon slug ammo for free. Hipfire shots work as intended.

The Riveter’s low pellet count makes this weapon feel inconsistent without the use of accuracy attachments. Fortunately, you can usecanted laserson this weapon ot give it far greater accuracy while aiming. We use theCanted Vibro-Dot 7laser to add canted aiming while buffing our ADS speed. We then use thePhantom GripandDAV15 Light Tactical Stockto buff this gun’s ADS speed and sprint to value delay.

Since the Riveter experiences damage falloff extremely fast, we will be using theSA Draven-20 Long Barrelto buff its range by a whopping 34%. Finally, we use theFlash Twist-90muzzle to hide the gun’s absurd muzzle flash. This muzzle also greatly lowers the gun’s recoil, making it easier to land three-hit kills against distant targets.

Field Upgrade

Preference

Shotguns only excel in close-range duels, so we will be using a stealth build to make closing the gap far easier. TheInfantry Vestwill double your tactical sprint duration to make navigating the map much faster.Covert Sneakerswill muffle your footsteps whileGhostwill hide you from enemy radar. When you do enter a gunfight, yourAssault Gloveswill completely remove and ADS and accuracy penalties while jumpshotting.

The only hard recommendation for your equipment is theStimTactical. This allows you to instantly heal after a gunfight.Throwing Knivesare also nice for the added one-hit kill melee attack, but they can be replaced with your favorite Lethal item.Use any Field Upgradeand secondary you please.

For some strange reason,adding a long-range scope to the Riveter completely removes projectile spread while ADS. Three shots will kill a target from any distance, so long as you aim near the torso. This build takes advantage of this strange quirk while also building around hipfire accuracy, making the Riveter a great option for all situations.

TheCorio CQC Scopeis the shortest scope you’re able to use while retaining pinpoint accuracy while ADS. We avoid using no stock on this build since we want manageable recoil while aiming, so we use theDAV15 Light Tactical Stockinstead to buff our ADS with a minimal penalty to recoil control. For hipfire accuracy, we use theBryson ChokeandBruen Bastion Angled Grip.

Final Attachment Options

The final attachment is down to preference. You can either use the SA Draven-20 Long Barrel for more range or any hipfire laser.

The same loadout as the previous buildwill work here. Despite the scope installed on this gun, you’ll still want to get as close as possible to your foes.Covert Sneakers and Ghostmake this easy to pull off. You might want to consider replacing the Assault Gloves withMarksman Glovesif flinch is an issue, but every other perk and equipment choice remains the same.
