Summary
With the launch ofFortnite: Chapter 5, the island has been entirely revamped and turned into a desert wasteland. On top of the grungy battlefields of the desert, the map also contains snowy mountains, rolling wineries, and a train that circumnavigates the entire map, and every location includes different loot.
Similar to other battle royale games, each Fortnite map is filled with Places of Interest, (otherwise known as POIs) that have specific themes and contain the greatest amount of loot. If you are curious about which POIs are the most advantageous to land at in Chapter 5, then look no further.

Updated July 23, 2025 By John Wildermuth:With the release of Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite, the map has been swept up in a massive sandstorm, revealing a desert portion at the bottom of the map. On top of this new desert aesthetic, there are also new bosses and vehicles that spawn in specific locations, which will bring you even closer to achieving victory. Since many of the old POIs have been removed and replaced with brand-new locations, we have updated this list to include all the best POIs in Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite.
Always check the map before you land, as several designated zones spawn higher-quality loot at the start of every match.

Open the map and check for any POI that has glowing gold letters, as this glowing text designates which areas spawn the best weapons.
While some POIs are simply better located than others, the availability of high-tiered loot can make landing at lower-quality POIs more advantageous.

15Classy Courts
For a POI that is located in the most isolated, snow-covered location on the entire map, Classy Courts does not exactly match the chilling aesthetic it is located in. This POI is a single building that multiple tennis courts surround, all exposed to the chilling elements.
While the POI is certainly well-designed and even sports many chests on the tennis courts, this POI is completely isolated from other locations on the map. This does make it an ideal landing spot if you don’t want to immediately enter combat, but landing here can be quite uneventful if you are looking for a fast-paced match.

14Rebel’s Roost
Rebel’s Roost is yet another isolated area in the snow, but, this POI is made up of a single abandoned mansion. The interior of the house is quite cramped, as it sports multiple tight hallways and rooms that could be seriously dangerous without a shotgun.
While this area is still somewhat removed from other POIs, Rebel’s Roost has a weapon cache located inside the house. Just head up the front steps and follow the spray-painted arrows until you reach the cache, whichyou and your friendscan loot for three high-value weapons.

13Pleasant Piazza
Pleasant Piazza is the first of many POIs in this chapter inspired by Italian architecture and aesthetics. This POI is a small town located towards the center of the map, meaning that it has multiple POIs surrounding it that you can travel to after looting the area.
Keep in mind that, because this area is so centrally located on the map, many different players will land here to instantly enter a massive fight, so only land here if you are up to the challenge. Sadly, while this location is certainly gorgeous to look at, this area’s weapon cache is located in a tunnel outside the POI, making landing here less advantageous.

12Grand Glacier
Grand Glacier is yet another POI located in a remote location in the snow, making it an isolated area full of instant combat. This snow-covered hotel only caters to the upper echelons of society, meaning that the interior is a complete maze of decadent rooms.
If you happen to get lost inside this hotel, you may have touse your pickaxeto create an opening to reach the boss or the underground vault. Unfortunately, this POI is located on the far right of the map, meaning that there are not many POIs that you can easily access from this location once you are done looting.

11Lavish Lair
Lavish Lair is a massive estate in the upper portion, and you should not underestimate the sheer size of this massive mansion. This area contains many different rooms that always contain loot, meaning you could easily outfit your entire inventory just by landing here.
Furthermore, the pure size of the building makes this area a perfect location for sniping players from long-range. While there is no longer a boss at this POI, the amount of loot and strategic placement of the area still makes it a nice spot to land.

10Grim Gate
The Grim Gate POI is the entrance to the Underworld, so you will see the green River Styx flowing through this entire location. In ancient Greek lore, the souls of people traveling to the Underworld traveled along this river, which is guarded over by a three-headed dog named Cerberus.
In Fortnite, this location was previously home to the Cerberus boss fight, where you could challenge this beast for his mythic rewards. Now, the POI sits eerily empty, with only a small amount of loot for you to collect.

9Restored Reels
Located in the exact center of the map is Restored Reels, which was previously named the destroyed POI Ruined Reels last season. In Season 2, all the buildings at this location were completely refurbished, so you will not see any more rubble.
The main feature of this POI is the large movie screen that plays music for you and your friends to emote along with. Finally, since this location is at the exact center of the map, you can easily rotate to wherever the circle takes you.

8Reckless Railways
The most advantageous POI to land at in Chapter 5 of Fortnite is Reckless Railways, as this location offers everything you need to prepare yourself for a victory. Located towards the center of the map, this train station is surrounded by different POIs, meaning that you will be able to easily travel around and defeat players.
Furthermore, this POI also featuresa connection to the train tracksthat circumscribes the map, so you may be able to board the train after looting this area. While this location is certainly a great central area to land, there is no longer a boss fight here, meaning you can no longer earn a Medallion or Mythic gun at this POI.
7Sandy Steppes
Out of all the locations added to Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite, Sandy Steppes is the only location that was remade from a previous POI. Sandy Steppes was originally named Snooty Steppes, a large resort town built into a mountainside that overlooked the ocean.
Now, the ocean and area surrounding Sandy Steppes is aptly covered in sand, generating new areas for combat. Overall, this change makes the area significantly easier to navigate, as you may easily traverse to the higher buildings by simply running on the sand.
6The Underworld
The Underworld is the home of Hades, who is brothers with Zeus and rules over the Underworld in Greek mythology. This location is a large dark castle that looms over the green river that surrounds it, filled with dead trees and an overall eerie atmosphere.
This POI used to include a boss fight against this dark lord, but the sandstorm has swept him away and left his halls completely empty. Luckily, as the area is so large, there will be a large amount of loot to collect, but the location is pretty isolated from the desert.
