Summary

Ready or Nothas introduced us to the high-tension world of SWAT officers. From the single-player campaign mode, to missions that can be experienced online with friends or taken on alone, Ready or Not is not lacking for substance and there is a bounty of content on hand.

Even with all of this content, the title still has room to grow. A few mods take center stage for their capacity to add to an already tense, enjoyable experience.

8No Crack For AI

The full launch of Ready or Not was met with high praise from fans, but an issue that many had was the AI system feeling unfair. In the following weeks, fixes were released to tone down the aggression. Until an official solution is released, the No Crack For AI mod has you covered.

The main selling point, reducing the competency of the AI, is a worthwhile selling point on its own. However, it’s further bolstered by the sheer customization on offer. The many versions of the mod allow you to tune things to a level that you find acceptable, and for the masochists out there, there is even a version that increases the difficulty.

7Gunfighter Gameplay Improvement 3

Ready or Not offers a highly tactical experience built on realism and tension to ensure each mission feels as engaging as possible. The base game does this admirably, but mods like Gunfighter Gameplay Improvement 3 serve to create an even smoother experience.

This comprehensive mod makes several tweaks to the game, including more realistic physics, accurate gun behavior, and adjustments to the graphics. Extra equipment is also available, so you can carry more ammo, or gear, such as flashbangs, gas grenades, and the 9 banger grenade.

This only scratches the surface of what is planned. The original Gunfighter Gameplay Improvement was rendered outdated by Ready or Not’s 1.0 launch. This new edition, according to the mod’s author, will eventually include even more features.

6Masked SWAT Heads

The reason for this mod is a simple one. Balaclavas just look sweet. Masked Swat Heads adds a facial covering that can be equipped to your operator, which will cover the majority of their face. Things are still kept reasonable though, as a slit for the eyes means that goggles and other equipment don’t look out of place when paired up with the masks.

As far as simple cosmetics are concerned, Masked SWAT Heads goes above and beyond to ensure its additions don’t look out of place. With the issue of clipping removed, this mod is for everyone out there looking to add a bit of extra character to their operator.

5Customization Unlocked

In a world of battle passes and in-game shops, though not always bad, Ready or Not’s approach to cosmetics is refreshing. Allowing you to earn them through in-game feats, like obtaining high ranks in missions, combines a sense of accomplishment with a swanky new look that is proof of your success.

For those looking to get their hands right away on that coveted gear, Customization Unlocked has you covered. With a full suite of all of Ready or Not’s impressive lineup of options, Customization Unlocked makes it so that you no longer worry about failing to look your best on a raid.

4Ballistic Shield - No Broken Glass

When it comes to realism in games, the genuine thing isn’t always the most fun. Being the wall that keeps your teammates, and yourself, from a barrage of damage is exhilarating. But in the case of using Ready or Not’s base ballistic shield, the debilitating impaired vision that comes with it isn’t so much fun.

This mod prevents the damage on the shield from obscuring your vision. A very nice quality-of-life mod that makes the shield more viable, as well as less of a chore to use when things get a little too dicey.

3Liquor Store

Ready or Not is already full of unique scenarios that succeed in testing thecoordination and skillsof any team that attempts them. These can range greatly in scope, and while the bigger maps can feel like a pulse-pounding test of endurance, there is something to be said about the smaller missions as well.

The Liquor Store offers exactly that. A short, tense scenario that sees your squad breaching a liquor store where armed gangsters have picked up on the fact they are being tailed. Filled with civilians, you are forced to act swiftly and carefully if they want to minimize collateral damage.

2Central South Office Park

Part of the appeal of mods is that they can combine different series in ways that may never be possible to see officially. For fans of Counter-Strike, Central South Office Park will be a familiar sight. The mod includes all new rooms normally inaccessible in the original. Owing to Counter-Strike’s tactical multiplayer gameplay, this map fits in quite well with the mechanics of Ready or Not.

Story-wise, the premise is rather simple. Armed men stormed the building while taking the workers hostage. Your squad is given a map of the building to study the layout before executing the mission. Remove the threat and save as many lives as possible in the process.

1Sniper Or Not Old Weapons For 1.0

Ready or Not presents you with a host of realistic combat gear that offers different ways to approach a situation. Submachine guns make for excellent close-quarters options, while assault rifles offer precision at longer ranges. But what about those situations that require you to engage from even further away?

Despite its name, this mod actually introduces a whole host of new weapons. As well as a sniper rifle, there are new assault rifles, new submachine guns as side arms, and a new shotgun. All of which offer you even more customization.
