The Lockwood 680 is easily one of the best shotguns inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.Compared to last year’s Bryson, the Lockwood trades raw damage for a tighter pellet spread, dramatically faster movement speed, and a greater variety of attachments to pick from.

Place your shots carefully, and you’ll find the Lockwood 680 to be MW3’s most consistent shotgun. But to make this weapon a one-shot machine, you’ll first need to install the right attachments. This guide will showcase two builds that make the Lockwood 680 the most consistent shotgun in MW3, including a hipfire build and a slug shotgun variant.

Pros And Cons

This Lockwood 680 build focuses on making the buckshot ammo as consistent as possible, opting forhipfire and ADS accuracywhen possible. The most important attachment in this build is theLockwood Defender Heavy Long Barrel, as this attachmentincreases your pellet count from 6 to 10, a modifier not listed in its description.

Since this barrel greatly reduces the weapon’s ADS speed, we recommend theSawed Off Stockto gain some ADS speed back. The rest of the attachments focus on buffing the gun’s hipfire accuracy, notably theStovl Tac Laser, Cronen Grooveshot Grip, and the Crown Breaker Choke. This setup should make it easy to hipfire a target up close without compromising on your ADS consistency.

Field Upgrade

Preference

A shotgun user needs to be fast and stay off the radar as much as possible. TheInfantry Vestmakes the former quite easy, doubling your tactical sprint duration and recovery time. This vest gives a perk for each slot, which we use to gainAssault Gloves, Covert Sneakers, and Ghost.Your footsteps will make no sound, you’ll stay off the minimap while moving, and jumpshots will impose no accuracy or ADS penalties.

Since this build centers around a shotgun, any mid-range secondary will work.A notable pick is theRenetti pistol for its carbine conversion, effectively turning it into a pocket SMG. For your throwable items,Throwing Knives and Stimsare a classic combination for any build. Use your knife for a quick one-tap, and use your Stim for a quick heal after a gunfight. Use any Field Upgrade that suits your playstyle.

Slug shotguns can be surprisingly powerful if you can land your shots. This build uses the12 Gauge Slugammo type to turn the Lockwood 680 into a close-range marksman rifle. A single shot at the torso or head will one-tap an opponent. To make lining up the shot easier, we use theSawed Off Stock, Bryson Hammerforged Long Barrel, and VLK LZR 7mwto greatly improve this weapon’s ADS speed.

The only issue this weapon has is follow-up shots, as its rechambering speed is quite slow. Thankfully, you can fix this with theExpress Light Bolt. This attachment roughly doubles the Lockwood’s fire rate, making follow-up shots much faster. Jump into an engagement quickly ADS, and fire near their torso for an easy kill. Rinse and repeat.

Dead Silence

This loadout is the same as our hipfire configuration but with two differences:

Since this build only uses attachments that buff your movement speed, pairing the Lockwood 680 with Lightweight Boots makes you absurdly fast, allowing you to reach power positions faster than anyone else. For situations where you have to push into a dangerous area, use the Dead Silence field upgrade to temporarily gain the effects of Covert Sneakers.
