InCyberpunk 2077, having the coolest and best weapons is vital to your continued survival in the treacherous Night City. It is always great to have some of the biggest and most destructive guns in the game; however, a good melee weapon will serve you better when it comes to stealth scenarios.
Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City has a lot of Japan-themed and inspired concepts all over the place, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that some ofthe best melee weaponsavailable in the game are katanas, one of Japan’s most famous melee weapons. Here are some of the best katanas in the game.

Updated May 20, 2025 by Jon Eakin:Phantom Liberty and the accompanying updates have firmly cemented Cyberpunk 2077 as the game it was always meant to be. Along with fresh content, updates and stability improvements Phantom Liberty also gave us something else the game sorely needed, more iconic katanas. We’ve reworked this list to include them, along with other updated features.
10Basic Katana
Best Early Game Katana
The basic katana is a standard version of the katana melee weapon that you can easily acquire during the earlier points of the game. The weapon has no mod attachments or extra effects, but you can craft better versions as you continue to level up your character.
The basic katana has the potential to deal Electrical, Thermal, and even Chemical damage to your targets after you have fully maxed out the upgrades. The weapon is a solid and trusty melee instrument that is good to have when trying to get your bearings at the start of the game.

9Errata
A Feature Not A Bug
Errata, found in the Electric Corporation power plant during the Disasterpiece mission, is a glowing thermal sword. That bright edge isn’t going to help you slink through the shadows, but it’s plenty powerful enough that you won’t need to.
Errata boasts an iconic modifier that lets you leap towards your foe. It comes with a ten percent chance to inflict Burning, and guarantees critical hits against enemies who are Burning. With a one-two combo like that, it’s hard to beat.

After being teased, Errata didn’t actually make it into the game until Patch 2.0. Players spent a great deal of time speculating where this missing item was until it was added, possibly explaining why it was named Errata.
8Gwynbleidd
The Butcher’s Blade
If you translate Gwynbleidd from the Elder Speech language of The Witcher, it means White Wolf. It’s no coincidence then that this katana isn’t actually a katana at all, far more closely resembling the sort of blade wielded by Geralt of Rivia.
It features an iconic modifier that makes all your attacks deal Crit Damage after killing two or more enemies within five seconds. It circumvents that requirements if your health is under 25 percent, automatically turning all attacks into crits. Not only that, but it deals an additional ten percent damage to bosses. Geralt would be proud.

7Black Unicorn
A Fun Reference To Another Beloved Title
The Black Unicorn is a unique katana that you can get your hands on in Cyberpunk 2077. This unique weapon cannot be obtained through regular in-game missions and activities, so you must go to the game’s main menu screen to get this weapon.
You should see a ‘My Rewards’ option in the bottom right corner of the screen, and if you select this option to connect your game account to your GOG account, you will find the katana waiting for you in V’s stash. The Black Unicorn blade is in tubes with a Witcher 3 reference, making it even more extraordinary.

6Tsumetogi
A Bloody Trophy From A Revolution
The Tsumetogi is an excellent katana melee weapon you may obtain bycompleting the ‘Pisces’ side questin Cyberpunk 2077, and it can be available as a rare, epic, legendary, or iconic weapon in the game.
With this weapon, you can attack up to five times per second, making it a lethal and devastating tool in one-on-one situations. The Tsumetogi also increases your electrical damage and gives you a slight chance to apply the Shock effect to your enemies, while making you ten percent more resistant to Electricity.

5Byakko
A Powerful Melee Weapon With Impressive Range
The Byakko katana is a unique blade you may get from Wakako Okada after you complete every quest in the ‘Professional Widow’ side quest line for her.
The weapon has an ability that sets it apart from the rest of the katanas in Night City, as you will have the ability to leap stroke from one enemy to another while wielding it. You will also have an added one extra meter of melee range to your attacks, and an additional 15 percent chance to apply Bleeding.

4Cocktail Stick
A Way To Remember A Friend
The Cocktail Stick katana has three mod slots and can be obtained as a rare, epic, legendary, or iconic weapon. It is a brightly colored pink katana that would attract the gaze of any onlooker, and you can find it at the Clouds Clubduring the ‘Automatic Love’ side quest.
The Cocktail Stick is up there with some of the most destructive weapons in Cyberpunk 2077, as it can do 91 to 111 physical damage to your enemies. The weapon also has a 20 percent chance to apply the Bleed effect to your targets.

3Satori
The Easiest Legendary Katana To Obtain
The Satori blade deals 179 to 219 physical damage with each hit. It has an added critical hit chance of 48.78 percent and an immense 599.9 percent added critical damage chance. The weapon also gives you a 20 percent chance to Bleed your opponents, draining their health passively as the fight progresses.
you may find the legendary version of the satori blade during ‘The Heist’ mission with Jackie Welles, but what is most unique about his weapon is its fascinating history. The weapon belonged to Saburo Arasaka and is an antique blade that was forged sometime during the first half of the 20th century but has yet to lose its sharpness despite its age.

2Scalpel
A Memento From A Rescue
The Scalpel katana can deal 118 to 230 Electrical damage with an additional critical hit chance of 59.73 percent and other critical damage of 105.35 percent, making it one of the most impressive legendary weapons in the game.
The Scalpel also gives you increased Electrical damage, an additional 20 percent chance to Shock your targets, and an added 50 percent chance to get a critical hit if you have an active Sandevistan cyberware. At the same time, your hits will also apply the Bleed effect to your targets.

1Jinchu Maru
The Overall Best Katana In The Base Game
The Jinchu Maru is an iconic katana melee weapon that can be obtained if you defeat Sandayu Odaduring the ‘Play It Safe’ mission. The weapon is as pure as a katana can get in Cyberpunk 2077 without any add-ons or modifications to rely on, and it can deal up to 178–218 physical damage to your targets, and it has a critical hit chance of 48.78 percent and a critical damage chance of 99.3 percent.
The weapon also has a 20 percent chance to apply the Bleeding effect to your targets with each hit landed, so if you pair this weapon with the Kerenzinkov nervous system cyberware, you will gain an additional 100 percent critical hit chance. The katana also deals double damage with the last strike on every combo, and if you come up against enemies that have up to double your current health, you deal double damage against them.
