The Holger LMG from Modern Warfare 2019 has returned inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.This iteration is a slow-moving, fast-firing LMG that is highly customizable. It fires much faster than its assault rifle counterpart, although it deals slightly less damage per bullet.

Creating a good build for the Holger 26 can be somewhat tricky due to its slow handling, but it’s possible to make this weapon a solid mid-range dueling primary with the right attachments. This guide will showcase a handful of great builds for the Holger 26, making it the ideal weapon for stealth builds and aggressive playstyles alike.

We’ve updated this guide to include a JAK Burnout build for the Holget 26, turning this weapon into the fastest-firing LMG in MW3. We’ve also updated our tactical stance build to use better attachments, greatly mitigating the tac stance nerfs that occurred partway through MW3’s first season.

Pros And Cons

The best way to spec the Holger 26 for general play is for mid-range dueling, focusing onrecoil control and general accuracy.We can reduce the recoil greatly through theMorn-20 GripandHolger Factory Barrel.Firing the weapon as-is will incur a noticeable degree of horizontal recoil, so we add theChewk Angled Gripto lower the side-to-side recoil the weapon experiences while also improving its strafe speed. The final two attachment slots are used foran optic and suppressor.

It’s by no means an aggressive build, but the Holger 26 can hold its own in medium and long-range gunfights thanks to its pinpoint accuracy.This build has minimal reticle sway and 20% less recoil, making it easy to fight enemies behind cover. The suppressor will also keep you off enemy radar. Pair it with a stealth loadout for optimal results.

Field Upgrade

Preference

This loadout uses theEngineer Vestand multiple stealth perks to keep you off the radar as often as possible.Covert Sneakersmuffle your footsteps to make flanks and other repositioning tactics much safer.Ghostwill keep you off the minimap so long as you’re moving. Since the Holger 26 has a drum mag, you’ll want to useMag Holsterto speed up your reload animation. Finally, we useMarksman Glovesto mitigate incoming flinch.

No specific pieces of equipment are required for this build to work, although you can never go wrong withStimsfor your Tactical slot. The Engineer Vest gives you two uses; be sure to use them.Any close-range secondarywill work,including the Renettiand WSP Stinger.

Certain camo challenges for the Holger 26 require you to land hipfire kills. This build improves your hipfire accuracy and tac stance effectiveness. We use theCorvus PEQ BEam-5to improve our hipfire accuracy greatly, further improved with theBruen Bastion Angled Grip.To greatly reduce the weapon’s hipfire spread maximum angle, we equip theHolger 556 Factory Stock, Prime Lord Heavy Barrel, and CT2000 Tactical Grip.

Every attachmentlowers your maximum hipfire spread to 4.0 degrees, giving this weapon solid hipfire accuracy at close range. For further distances, use tac stance.This build reduces your tac stance bloom to 1.1 degrees, which is identical to ADS accuracy up to 30 meters.It’s not as strong asour Holger 556 tac stance build, but this configuration is surprisingly powerful in the right hands.

We recommend the same loadout as our previous build. Despite not having a suppressor,Covert Sneakers’noise reduction is so powerful that it’s mandatory for any hipfire build. Closing the gap without alerting the enemy is vital to winning close-quarters gunfights.

Past that,Ghostwill hide you from the radar until you stop moving or start firing, andMag Holstermakes you reload much faster. The only change we recommend is usingQuick-Grip Glovesif you aren’t using a pistol with a fastdraw grip.

The JAK Burnout kit greatly increases the Holger 26’s fire rate, reducing its damage range and accuracy in the process. The easiest way to counter this accuracy reduction is throughtac stance. This build is effectively our previous tac stance build, but we swap the Prime Lord Barrel with theJAK Burnout Kitto morph this gun into a fast-firing LMG. attempt to fight enemies within 10-20 meters for easy kills.

While this weapon isn’t suppressed, we still recommend usingGhostandCovert Sneakersto minimize your uptime on enemy radar.Mag Holstergreatly cuts down on this weapon’s reload speed, andQuick-Grip Glovesare useful for quickly swapping to a strongerlong-range secondary weapon like the Tyr.
