6Melty Blood: Type Lumina
A series that is beloved by many but not nearly as popular as it should be has always beenMelty Bloodand Melty Blood: Type Lumina checks all the boxes that make up an excellent fighting game but still struggles to reach the mainstream masses.
Still, if you love the high-octane and relentless nature of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, then Melty Blood: Type Lumina will deliver that same chaos but somehow crank it beyond the breaking point, offering one of the most intense and unbelievably fun experiences you’re able to have in a fighting game!

5Skullgirls 2nd Encore
Speaking of a combat system that feels like it’s breaking the limits of what we thought possible,Skullgirls 2nd Encoreis thedefinition of chaotic genius at play, with one of the most unique and robust cast of characters and battle systems in the genre.
You can choose to assemble a team of three balanced fighters or two slightly more powerful fighters or opt to enter the fray as one superpowered fighter, opening the door for a near-endless possibility of team composition, combo routes, and overall player expression, making this a must-play if you’re in it for the chaos!

4Dragon Ball FighterZ
While Skullgirls can be a 3v3 fighter,Dragon Ball FighterZis only a 3v3 fighter, meaning you must familiarize yourself with three separate characters and form a deadly team composition that fits your playstyle and likes.
This may sound like a bad thing, but the cast of fighters available at your disposalare all outrageously fun to learn and offer unique strengths that can help round out your team, making its out-of-control action a blast to learn and adapt to, whether you’re winning or losing!

3DNF Duel
If there’s one game that’s the most similar to Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, that would beDNF Duel, which offers many of the same systems and mechanics. The only difference here is that DNF Duel focuses on making every character feel completely broken.
Nearly every character has access to combos you swear never end, and they all feel like they can end your entire day if they get one or two solid combos on you in a round. While the player base is not nearly as bustling as it used to be, unfortunately, there’s still lots of fun to be had in DNF Duel, and we cannot recommend it enough to fans of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising!

2BlazBlue: Central Fiction
BlazBlue: Central Fiction is next in line, offering one of the most solid experiences you could ask for in an Anime Fighter. Again, this offers tremendously fast and chaotic gameplay but does an excellent job of providing unique characters that cover nearly every playstyle.
Granted, some characters may feel a tad too strong, and the player base isn’t nearly as populated as it used to be. It still offers a ton of stuff to see and do, making it check all the boxes to earn a solid recommendation!

1Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r]
Lastly, we haveinhalesUnder Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r]exhales, a game that’s just as bizarre as its name but also immensely exhilarating and rewarding to learn. Long and complex name aside, Under Night is a series that deserves so much more love than it gets.
Everything from its robust cast of characters to its engaging and deep combat systems makes it a must-play for anyone who loved their time with Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. Although be warned, the player pool is seemingly nonexistent, so don’t expect to find a steady flow of matches. Unfortunately.
