Summary
Just like with The Last of Us Part 1 in 2022,The Last of Us Part 2PS5 remaster comes with plenty of new skins for the iconic characters in the game. A lot of them have to do with references tied to the story content and television series, and some contain graphics of iconic video game series not made by Naughty Dog. So, it’s safe to say that Ellie has plenty of excellent styles to work with.
You’ll find that each skin for Ellie brings either a cool style or something meaningful to the table, no matter if you’re exploring the main story of The Last of Us Part 2, Lost Levels, or No Return. Naughty Dog has included some terrific skins for the remaster, and here are some you might be interested in.

8Patrol
An Early-Game Gem
Ellie’s Patrol outfit in The Last of Us Part 2 is given the same treatment as Leon’s brown leather coat in Resident Evil 4, where she loses it after a certain point in the early portion of the game. She wears it when she’s out on patrols with Dina, hence the name, and it’s quite a good style, almost resembling the one Pedro Pascal’s Joel wears in the live-action series.
It makes sense that it’s only suitable for Ellie in the colder climates of Wyoming, and she changes out of it during her time in Seattle. However, if it’s something you’d like her character model to keep throughout the story, you now certainly can.

7Seattle
Can’t Go Wrong With A Classic
The Seattle outfit is truly the definitive look for Ellie in The Last of Us Part 2, like her red long-sleeve tee from the first game. You see her with it during the stealth gameplay in Seattle, on the art for the game, on her collectible statue, and who can forget the iconic promotional material of her in the woods taking cover from Seraphites and another of her playing guitar by a tree with it on.
The Seattle skin sees Ellie in a grayish-green collared shirt with an olive-green shirt underneath. What’s also so iconic about this original skin, in particular,is that it shows off Ellie’s unique tattoo, which is an important connection for her to Joel.

6Astronaut With Helmet And Without Helmet
“I Was Thinking… I Would’ve Wanted To Be An Astronaut”
Ellie did tell Joel in the first game that she wanted to be an astronaut, and he gave her a special astronaut adventure for her sweet sixteen, by getting into a space capsule while wearing an astronaut helmet and listening to a recording of Apollo 11. Now, her heartfelt birthday gift from Joel can always be a part of your character and something for Ellie to remember him by.
The astronaut skin comes separately with the helmet on or off, but with it off, Ellie looks much better, and not that she needs protection from the Cordyceps spores anyway. The other amazing element of the suit’s design is that it displays Ellie’s full name as “E. Williams,“her surname finally made canon in the gameafter appearing on the show.

5Video Game Easter Egg Shirts
Mortal Kombat, Hotline Miami, Death Stranding, Destiny, and Siren Merch
It looks like Ellie has hit up a GameStop in Seattle and cleared what was left of their inventory, because she takes home a bunch of shirts with logos for iconic games like Hotline Miami, Siren,Death Stranding,Mortal Kombat,Destiny, andKillzone. Most of these are PlayStation exclusives, and Death Stranding is also a clever nod considering it’s kind of like a cousin post-apocalyptic game.
If you’ve watched the first season of the HBO series, you’ll know what the white shirt with the Mortal Kombat logo is referencing. In the ‘Left Behind’ episode where Ellie and Riley are exploring the abandoned mall together, they find an arcade and play a game of Mortal Kombat 2 before all hell breaks loose.

The Hotline Miami shirt was also included due to an Easter egg reference in The Last of Us Part 2. The game was visible on the PS Vita screen of a WLF character Ellie kills at the hospital in Seattle.
4Rain Jacket
For When It’s Not Just Raining Clickers In Seattle
Ellie’s worn some iconic jackets throughout the series, like the pink, purple, and white-striped one from the first game during the wintertime period and her patrol jacket from The Last of Us Part 2. The Rain Jacket is another solid addition to the outerwear in Ellie’s wardrobe.
The rain jacket design has lots of shine and detail to make the material seem like it’s realistic against rain. It’s also a cool twist on a traditional yellow raincoat like you see on George in It, with a yellow hood and overall yellow color joined by some dark green and red patterns.
3Pride Tank Top
The Last Of Us Part 2 Is Loud And Proud
The Last of Us Part 2 is a pretty brutal and harrowing reflection on PTSD and revenge, and it muddles whose actions are right or wrong. However, there’s also lots of love in the air for the protagonists, especially for Ellie, who’s a lesbian character romantically involved with her girlfriend Dina.
There’s lots of amazing LGBTQ+ representation in The Last of Us series, as former Seraphite character Lev is a young trans teen, and there’s also the relationship between Bill and Frank. Ellie can now replace her tattered Santa Barbara tank top skin with a more beautiful and meaningful Progress Pride Flag design that incorporates the colors of the trans flag.
2Plaid
A Plaid Upgrade To The Seattle Fit
Ellie had a red long-sleeve shirt for most of the first game, and this design for her echoes back to it for the sequel. Although not the same long-sleeved tee, the red with black squares is something new and refreshing if you want to change up Ellie’s default clothes that lean a bit too heavily on shades of green.
This outfit is another homage to Joel’s character, who wore flannels with the same patterns. The other element of this one is that it’s like two skins in one since you get the collared red plaid shirt with buttons and pockets, and it goes over another T-shirt underneath, which has a logo of a possible album cover or movie.
1Savage Starlight
A Space Suit Worthy For Starlight From The Boys
One of the best new skins for Ellie and an even better spacesuit in the game is called Savage Starlight, and it also totally sounds like a superhero persona. Which is what this is, because the suit’s design and its name come from the fictional comic book series of the same name from The Last of Us universe starring the sci-fi heroine Dr. Daniela Star.
Issues of Savage Starlight have been seen in the first game, turned into trading cards in the sequel, and are referenced in the show, so now Ellie can wear the costume from her favorite comic! The red dots and stripes, white, and black color patterns match the illustration, looking as if The Suicide Squad’s Polka-Dot Man was in Mass Effect.
