Summary
Persona 5 Tacticadoes a fine job of blending the familiar with the unfamiliar for both fans of the series andfans of the tactical genre. The game starts pretty straightforward, but once the skill trees open up for all the characters, the possibilities become as many as you are creative.
While you could easily supplement the skill you need by fusing various personas, there are going to be times when you’re going to have to rely on the innate skill you unlock with each party member to get you through to the next kingdom of the game. Which skills will you get you to victory?

7Diamrita/Diaramrita
Who Obtains This Skill: Noir
At first glance, it seems as though you are getting a deal when Noir unlocks this spell. You can heal a target for a significant amountandheal them of any status ailment they’d have aside from death. On paper, everything sounds on the level; you’re getting two abilities for the price of one.
But when you start grabbing passive abilities that protect you from status effects or shorten their duration, you start to question whether casting Diamrita is worth the extra SP. Given the fact that Media can heal multiple party members, you’ll most likely leave this healing spell behind.

6Magaru/Magarula/Magarudyne
Who Obtains This Skill: Mona
It quickly becomes apparent that whichever side controls the field is going to be the one that ultimately wins the skirmish. You don’t want to be caught in the crossfire when trying to get to your destination. No, the best thing that you may do is take control of the field as soon as possible.
Mona’s innate wind skills allow you to play more defensively in the beginning. As you attack the soldiers, you’ll be able to push them away, giving Joker more space to maneuver and strategize the best method of winning the fight.

5Tarukaja/Matarukaja
Who Obtains This Skill: Panther
While you’re going tohave a lot of battles that will testyour tactical and puzzle-making skills, there are other battles you’re just going to have to deal with as fast as you can. The easiest way, of course, is to simply overpower them, so why not boost your strength? Giving your party the push it needs to (hopefully) one-shot any foe off the field.
Tarukaja, at first glance, wouldn’t seem ideal. If you can’t boost the whole party at once, then what’s the point? But, once you unlock the multi-target upgrade, well, all bets are off. All of your friends will be hit as hard as a truck.

4Media/Mediarama/Mediarahan
Who Obtains The Skill: Mona And Queen
In both this game and the original, your first partner in battle is Mona, the metaverse cat and partner in crime. Mona has the advantage of coming in as early as he does because itallows you to get a decent healerearly on in the game. You’ll regain other healers as the beginning chapters progress, but by that point, it’s possible to have Mona’s Media at a stronger level.
One could argue that Haru/Noir’s Diamitra spell is the better choice, as it also heals status effects, but the status effects that do stick around don’t last long enough for you to have to worry about them affecting you. It’s the movement effects that have a bigger impact on how a fight can go.

3Break And Recover
Who Obtains This Skill: All
Proper HP mitigation is vital if you want to find your way back home, so be prepared to use up some of that precious SP to keep yourself above water. Some passives would help you if your HP were below 50 percent, but those aren’t the focus of this entry. Luckily, you can gain HP back without spending any magic as well.
Oracle, for example, can sporadically give the party both HP and SP, but the rate at which she does this is completely at her whim. After gaining some experience and funds, you’ll be able to unlock this passive, which, provided you haven’t taken any actions in battle, will give you a small HP percentage back so long as you’re behind cover.

2Soul Repose
Who Obtains The Skill: All
There’s noLeblanc special curry or coffeeto heal your SP in Persona 5 Tactica. From the beginning, the game lets you know that you’ll have to plan and choose your actions wisely because you may’t rely on many healing items to help you as you learn the truth behind the gang’s sudden misadventure.
Soul Repose allows anyone hiding behind full cover to regain a portion of their SP at the end of each turn. Even the spells each character comes equipped with have high SP costs, meaning you’ll end up in a deadly situation if you’re caught on the field with no magic to defend yourself.

1Auto-Masuku (Or Any Movement Buff)
Who Obtains This Skill: Fox, Various
Each member of your party has a limited amount of movement by default, with Mona and Skull having the largest movement area. This means that you are going to have to be creative in how you move around the field. Sure, you can work the cosmically powerful One More ability, but even that has limits.
It’s better, then, to boost your movement before the match even starts. Auto-Masuku is a powerful auto-spell that gives all party members on the field a bonus of two movement squares forthree turns. Plus, you’re able to keep the effect going if you cast Masukaja before it runs out.
