Just like any monster-taming game, and any RPG for that matter, Dragons are mystical, rare, and powerful creatures inPalworld. The game has several creatures, ranging from derpy to badass, and that’s only one of the reasons why it got so viral. Luckily, Dragons within the game also come in all shapes and sizes.

Each element in Palworld is strong against one element and weak against another, barring Fire and Neutral. Thus, Dragon does not have an implicit power in itself as an element. However, the Pals that possess the Dragon element are so extremely strong that it elevates the element as a whole.

Palworld: Azurobe, a serpentine blue dragon looking at the armored player character

Dragon is weak against Ice and strong against Dark, so use it accordingly.

10Azurobe

Graceful And Powerful Alike

Azurobe is a Dragon/Water Pal to start our list.Beautiful and graceful,Azurobe leaves a bit to be desired. While Azurobe is good enough to be considered a top-tier Pal, it’s unlucky in that it completely gets outclassed by other Dragon/Water Pals on this list. Azurobe would have been great if not for the power of its competition.

Still, Azurobe is a great addition during the early and mid-game, especially if you haven’t had a chance to capture a better Pal to fill its slot. Its Partner Skill applies Water Damage to the player’s attacks while mounted, and Azurobe itself is decently bulky. Let’s call Azurobe a great budget pick for a Dragon Pal.

Palworld: Relaxaurus, a big blue bipedal creature with small eyes walking alongside its trainer holding a gun

Azurobe has Watering Lv3, so leaving it at camp towater crops or power crusherscan be very beneficial.

9Relaxaurus

Don’t Let Its Blank Stare Fool You

The second victim of severe competition is the Dragon/Water Relaxaurus. While a bit stronger than Azurobe in offense and weaker in defense, Relaxaurus manages to edge it out in terms of overall usefulness. This is mainly due to its Partner Skill, Hungry Missile.

This skill simply allows Relaxaurus to launch rapid missiles while mounted, as you do. Relaxaurus is unfortunately powercrept by another Pal still. Despite that though, it can be used for a long time as the alternative is quite hard to get. It should be noted that Water is strong against the most powerful element Fire, so there’s that going for it as well.

Palworld: Chillet, a serpentine blue dragon walking on two legs as the player character looks at it

8Chillet

This Dragon Slayer Is Cute

Chillet is a unique case and proves that the element match-ups are crucial in mastering the game. This adorable serpent is Dragon/Ice, and that alone is enough to make it one of the best Pals in the game in certain situations. Thanks to its Ice element, Chillet can take down other Dragons with ease, and that’s incredibly valuable.

Chillet isn’t even that strong in a vacuum, having decent at best stats in both offense and defense. Luckily, its Partner Skill is also great, applying Dragon damage to the player’s attacks while mounted. Chillet is the definition of how a great skill and element combination can lift up a mediocre Pal, turning it into an absolute powerhouse.

Palworld: Relaxaurus Lux, a gold yellow, large dragon looking at the camera alongside its trainer

you may get a boss Chillet early on in the game, just north of the starting area.

7Relaxaurus Lux

Still Chill, Just A Bit More Energetic

It appears that a decent Pal kept back due to its element being on better Pals, gets a lot better when you change its element to something rarer. Dragon/Electric is a great offensive element combo, and while there are still better Pals of the same element, Relaxaurus Lux ends up being better than its regular counterpart in most cases.

Electric is a unique element in the game, covering Fire’s weakness being Water. As Fire is the strongest element in the game, this means you can have an Electric Pal to cover your bases alongside your Fire Pals and you’ll be good to go. Other than its element, Relaxaurus Lux is just like its more boring cousin, still launching missiles and looking derpy.

Palworld: Quivern, a feathered white dragon looking happy at the camera as the player character walks to it

6Quivern

Fly On A Cloud Of A Pal

Quivern is quite likely one of the best-designed Pals in the game, which is great, as the game’s been riddled with controversy due to its creature designs. On top ofbeing absolutely gorgeousthough, Quivern is a menace in battle as well. To begin with, it’s the first flying Pal on this list, meaning it can be ridden to battle through the skies.

Quivern’s Partner Skill also enhances Dragon attacks while mounted, meaning it will hit a lot harder with you on top of it. It gets amazing coverage, learning Skills from four different elements in total, which is extremely rare in Palworld. Quivern might not be game-breaking like some other Pals on this list, but it’s an absolute powerhouse nonetheless.

Palworld: Astegon Paldeck Image

5Astegon

An Envoy Of Darkness And Destruction

Astegon doesn’t just look ferocious, it actually is. This is a Dark/Dragon Pal and marks the point of stats becoming as high as you can hope for. Astegon is a tank of a Pal, with 125 Defense and Ranged Attack out of a possible 150. Stats are not the only thing elevating Astegon though.

While its Partner Skill is lacking, as it only increases damage done to ore, its element combination is pretty much perfect. Dark hits Neutral effectively and is weak against Dragon, whereas Dragon hits Dark effectively and is weak against Ice. This means that Astegon is the perfect counter to Dark andNeutral Pals, which basically covers a majority of randomly spawned Pals in the overworld.

Palworld: Orserk, a black, white and yellow dragon looking fierce as the player looks at it with a gun ready

4Orserk

Zap Your Enemies Before They See What’s Coming

Orserk is quite likely the best Electric Pal you can get your hands on in the whole game. This thing has an amazing element combination in Dragon/Electric and has incredible ranged damage potential. The fact that it’s Electric is amazing to begin with, as it shuts down Water Pals which might become an issue for Fire Pals, the strongest element in the game.

Orserk’s Partner Skill, Ferocious Thunder Dragon sounds cool but is very rarely useful. Despite that though, this majestic beast manages to be amazing purely due to its damage output. So much so that there are only a couple of Dragon Pals better than it. Speaking of…

Palworld: Jormuntide, a blue serpentine dragon floating through the air as the players watches with a gun ready

Orserk is amazing at generating electricity, so try to have one at your base, especially late-game as you begin automation.

3Jormuntide

Mythical Dragon Lord Of The Seas

Jormuntide is the definition of a creature, perfectly crafted for battle. It’s got the highest Melee Attack stat in the game bar-none, has an amazing element of Dragon/Water, and even has access to an Electric Skill for coverage.

Even its Partner Skill is amazing, allowing you to move over water riding on it without depleting stamina. ItsWater element is also useful,as it counters the ever-so-powerful Fire Element. Jormuntide is as close to a perfect Pal as you’re able to get in terms of combat.

Palworld: Jormuntide Ignis, a black and red serpentine dragon floating through the air as the players watches

2Jormuntide Ignis

Mythical Dragon Lord Of The Flames

Throughout this list, we’ve mentioned a few times howFire is the best element, and how being able to counter it is a huge boon for any Pal. Well, it then tracks that having the Fire element is even better. Jormuntide Ignis is the Dragon/Fire alternate version of Jormuntide, and it is so, so powerful.

Jormuntide Ignis has all the benefits of regular Jormuntide, retaining its stats, Electric coverage, and Dragon Skills. However, it swaps out Jormuntides Partner Skill for an offensive one, boosting Fire attacks while mounted. Fire even beats Dragon’s weakness in Ice, so you can only counter it with Water attacks. This thing just keeps getting better the longer you look at it.

Palworld: Jetragon flying through the air

1Jetragon

Soar Through The Skies At Breakneck Speeds

While there is a very strong argument that both Jormuntide and Jormuntide Ignis might be the best Dragon Pals in the game, Jetragon has just a tad bit more going for it than them. This jet plane of a Pal has slightly lower offensive stats and a bit better defensive ones. What makes Jetragon incredible is its speed and Partner Skill.

Jetragon can be ridden as a flying mount, and it’s by far the fastest one you may get. Its Partner Skill Aerial Missile makes Jetragon Rapidly fire a missile launcher. The result is a very speedy mount that can rain destruction from high over your enemies. Jetragon is the best Dragon Pal you can get, due to how versatile, helpful, and destructive it is all at the same time.
