11Sentinel

Be The Target

Sentinel isamong the most powerful featsin the game, no matter what class or build you’re playing as. It’s versatile and gives you plenty of bonuses. Sentinel mostly focuses on your opportunity attacks, giving you additional triggers, advantages, and extra effects upon hits.

As a cleric, you’ll likely be one of the characters in the party with the highest Armour Class(AC) and will thus have an easier time blanking incoming attacks. With that being the case, it’s very useful to keep dangerous enemies near you and prevent them from leaving your vicinity to hurt your other party members. Sentinel is the perfect feat to do just that.

10Tough

Maximize Health

It’s hard to heal your hurt party mates if you’re bleeding out on the ground yourself. While Clerics traditionally have high ACs, a decent HP is also invaluable. Luckily, Tough is a great help with that. It’s a very simple feat, giving you two additional HP per your level.

While that may seem inconsequential, it’s actually great in the long run. By level ten, you’re going to have an extra twenty HP, which can be enough to live three to four extra hits. That can practically be the difference between victory or death, making Tough so worth it.

9Ritual Caster

Spell Versatility

While Clerics may be seen as any party’s dedicated healers, they are surprisingly versatile. They are capable of shooting incredibly powerful spells and utility magic all the same. Ritual Caster adds yet another dimension to their versatility, which is always welcome.

With this feat, you get access to two Ritual Spells from a list of very useful spells. These are all quality-of-life spells and include great ones likeSpeak with Dead,Disguise Self, andFind Familiar. While not as game-warping as some other feats on this list, Ritual Caster can be incredibly helpful.

8War Caster

Concentration Is Key

War Caster is a great pick for those who are less concerned about utility and want to blast your enemies back to where they come from. It both gives advantage to Concentration Saving Throws and allows you to use theShocking Graspspell as an opportunity attack.

Clerics have some of the best concentration spells on their list, so War Caster feels like the perfect fit. With options such asShield of Faith,Silence,Spirit Guardians,Banishment, and more, Clerics can be unbelievably powerful if they can keep their concentration on a specific spell at a specific time.

This feat does not add the spell Shocking Grasp to your spell list. So you won’t be able to use it, barring the reaction.

7Resilient: Constitution

Saving Throw Proficiency

Speaking of concentration, another way to buff that is to grab the feat Resilient and pick Constitution as your stat. This feat increases the relevant ability by one and gives proficiency in its Saving Throw. Clerics, unlike Sorcerers, don’t naturally have proficiency in their Constitution Saving Throws, so this is a perfect pick for them.

This feat could also help you round up your Constitution score up to an even number if it’s sitting on an odd number. While it’s a hard pick between War Caster and Resilient most of the time, Clerics can benefit from both.

Your Ability Score modifiers only increase on each even number. attempt to round all stats to the nearest even number to maximize bonuses.

6Heavily Armoured

Impossible To Hit

While feats related to Armours in Baldur’s Gate 3, andD&Dfor that matter, are usually overlooked, there are certain cases where they can be very useful. Clerics are the prime examples of that. Normally, a Cleric begins the game with only a Light and Medium Armour proficiency, which is not even that bad.

However, Clerics work best when they are nearly impossible to hit, as they keep their party healthy. Thus, upgrading to heavy armor with this feat can be absolutely worth it. Clerics can also wield shields, so once you don full-plate armor or similar, you can easily push your AC beyond 20. After this, you can simply cast spells each turn and watch as incoming attacks fail to hit you.

5Shield Master

Perfect Defense For Area Spells

Speaking of being tanky, Shield Master also goes really well with a defensive Cleric build. This feat adds a +2 bonus to your Dexterity Saving Throws when wielding a shield. It also lets you take no damage on a Dexterity Saving Throw success or half damage on a fail.

With the typical AC of Clerics being so high, a common way they may get hit is through area spells and AoE attacks. Shield Master is the perfect remedy for that, making your Cleric even harder to take out. The fact that there areso many amazing shieldsto use in the game is the icing on the cake.

Assuming you are proficient, use a shield even if you don’t take this feat. The +2AC is worth it by far.

4Mobile

Increased Movement Speed

Mobile is one of the best feats for clerics in Baldur’s Gate 3. Increasing your movement speed allows you to quickly avoid attacks and heal allies on the other side of the battlefield.

Difficult terrain won’t slow you down if you Dash, so you’re able to maneuver across the combat zone quicker than your enemies. After making an attack, the targeted enemy cannot use Opportunity Attack against you, further benefiting your cleric during combat.

3Spell Sniper

Increased Critical Hit Range

While playing as an unkillable tank can be immensely fun, Clerics are capable of so much more. In fact, they can rival Sorcerers orWarlocks with their damaging spellsunder certain circumstances. So why not double down on your offense and grab the Spell Sniper feat? This feat gives you an additional cantrip but, more importantly, increases your critical hit range with spells.

This means you’re doubly likely to land a critical hit with your offensive spells, which you have tons of. Spells such asFire Bolt,Guiding Bolt, andInflict Woundsare good enough reasons to pick this feat up, and this feat even works with spells you may get from items or other sources, which is lovely.

2Elemental Adept

Ignoring Resistances

Elemental Adept is a feat that’s more geared towards blasting classes; classes such as Sorcerers or Wizards whose primary job is to deal high damage through spells. However, a tailored Cleric can be just as effective at dealing magical damage, and they can absolutely take advantage of Elemental Adept.

With this feat, you pick a damage type and ignore resistances to that type of damage that your enemies may have. Your damage with said type also gains a slight boost on top of that. Clerics have some great damaging spells, such asGlyph of WardingandFlame Strike, on top of other spells you receive from your Subclass.
