Summary

In a game that continues to release new characters every update, it’s no surprise that some characters inGenshin Impactwould fall behind and be forgotten in favor of the newer and stronger ones. On the other hand, some were just too bad when they were released and were itching for some form of buff.

With that said, there have certainly been characters who got buffed with the release of new nations throughout the years. Some of these buffs came in the form of new Elemental Reactions, Artifact sets, and even support characters, and we’ll tell you everything about it.

Genshin Impact Dehya In Ultimate Animation

10Dehya

The Flame Mane Dehya’s release was met with a lot of problems due to how her entire Burst was designed. These problems included not being able to trigger Xingqiu or Yelan’s Burst for Vaporize Damage, getting canceled when she gets Frozen or accidentally jumps, and simply being too clunky to play.

However, Furina has come to save the day, since her skill summons pets that can attack and apply Hydro on their own. This, on top of Furina’s buffs, allowed Dehya to finally Vaporize her attacks and become the damage dealer she was meant to be.

Genshin Impact, Cyno using his Elemental Burst

9Cyno

Cyno is another character who was met with mixed emotions after his release, and his issues stemmed from his long field time that outlasted all his supports and not being able to switch out without ending his Burst, which made him also clunky to play. Thankfully, he got significantly better after Furina’s release.

Her Hydro application lasts for an astounding 30 seconds, which completely covers Cyno’s field time, making her one of his best teammates for his best team, Hyperbloom. Paired with Furina’s buffs, Cyno is not only more comfortable to play now but is also stronger to the point where he can defeat bosses in a single rotation.

Thoma caring for the stray dogs

8Thoma

As a Pyro character, Thoma had to compete with the likes of Bennett and Xiangling who simply offered more to their teams. His Burst also tended to steal Vaporize reactions from damage dealers like Hu Tao and Yoimiya which made players further stray away from him.

After Dendro was released, Thoma found a new purpose with Burgeon, a reaction that detonates Dendro Cores made from the Bloom reaction by mixing them with Pyro, increasing their range and damage. This opened up brand new teams for him that let him act as both a defensive and offensive unit.

Fischl holding a bow and laughing as she looks at viewer in Genshin Impact

7Fischl

Since the start,Fischl has been a solid optionthat has stood the test of time because of her strong off-field damage. The only thing that kept her from reaching her full potential was Electro’s underwhelming reactions and the lack of a dedicated Artifact set.

Her time to shine came when Sumeru introduced Dendro and the Aggravate reaction, which significantly buffed Electro damage. After Fontaine’s release then came the Golden Troupe set, which skyrocketed her damage output as it provided a massive increase to Skill Damage.

6Ningguang

Ningguang is another strong character who never really had a signature Artifact set and was forced to settle with mixed two-piece sets, holding back her damage potential. However, she was finally given a spotlight after the release of Navia’s signature Artifact set in Version 4.3, Nighttime Whispers In The Echoing Woods.

This set increases your ATK like other sets, but also your Geo Damage which further increases when you’re under a Crystalize shield. Since Ningguang is a Catalyst character who can make Crystalize shields as she pleases, she’ll always have the set’s full effect to deal even more damage.

5Yae Miko

A lot of people questioned whythe long-awaited Yaehad an Elemental Mastery passive during a time when Electro reactions were really bad. It wasn’t until the highly anticipated Dendro element was released alongside Sumeru that it started to make sense.

Both her Elemental Mastery passive and damage output received significant buffs thanks to the Aggravate reaction. And just like Fischl, Yae also received two great Artifact sets in the form of Gilded Dreams and Golden Troupe.

Jean-Genshin-Impact Cropped

4Jean

We’ve already mentioned healers, butActing Grandmaster Jeandeserves a spot of her own because she’s arguably the biggest winner of them all. As a standard five-star from Version 1.0, Jean has fallen behind as better healers with gimmicks other than healing were released until Furina made her rise back to the top.

Aside from being able to shred enemies’ Elemental RES with the Viridescent Venerer set, Jean’s Burst can instantly heal your whole team to full HP, filling up Furina’s Fanfare Stacks within seconds. This makes Jean one of, if not the best healer and teammate to use with Furina.

Keqing from Genshin Impact Burst

3Keqing

Another standard five-star from Version 1.0, Keqing used to be one of the worst five-star DPS characters as stronger ones kept getting released. She also had the same problem as the other Electro characters with Electro having underwhelming reactions compared to Pyro, Cryo, and Hydro which had access to the damage-amplifying reactions Melt and Vaporize.

With the release of Dendro and the Aggravate reaction, Keqing is now back to being a top-tier DPS. Her lightning-fast hits enable her to continuously trigger many Aggravate procs, allowing her to capitalize on a powerful Elemental Reaction that she never had before.

Genshin Impact, Noelle holding up her Claymore

2Noelle

Noelle is a guaranteed character in the Beginner Wish who’s often most people’s first main DPS. But as a four-star carry, it was inevitable that she’d lose popularity and usage especially when five-star characters who are much stronger kept getting released.

Fortunately for her, Fontaine not only released her new best support in the form of Furina but also her new best Artifact set withMarechaussee Hunter, a set that increases your Crit Rate whenever you lose or gain HP. Noelle can deal damage while healing your whole party at the same time, filling up Furina’s Fanfare stacks while taking advantage of the high Crit value that Marechaussee Hunter provides.
