Summary

Bluey is one of the best shows the whole family can watch. Whether you’re watching episodes onDisney+or playingthe video game tie-in, it’s definitely worth giving this series a try. The writing is funny while still being thoughtful and heartfelt. Each episode is a refreshing and hilarious look at the world through the eyes of a child.

As great as Bluey is, however, the show would be nothing without its vibrant cast of characters. Everyone has their favorite, from the titular character to her family and community. None of the characters are bad, but some are definitely more memorable. Here are some of our favorites.

6Honey

A Precious Little Peanut

What might first draw your attention to Honey is her unique character design. While she’s a beagle, she looks like a weird little peanut, which is oddly adorable. Her oversized blue glasses just add to her charm, making for a character you’d hug if she wasn’t on the other side of the screen.

Honey is one of Bluey’s classmates, but she’s also a playmate and friend. While Honey isn’t as energetic as Bluey and Bingo, she’s an intelligent and empathetic little dog who makes for a great friend. Even when she struggles to keep up with the chaos her friends put forth into the world, she always tries.

5Mackenzie

A Fan Favorite

Like Honey, Mackenzie is a student at Calpypso’s school and one of Bluey’s closest friends. In many ways, Mackenzie is Honey’s polar opposite, being loud and assertive, whereas Honey might be more pensive. He’s not a bad kid by any means, and like most of the cast, his worst moments are simply situations where he acts like the kid he is.

Mackenzie is brash, outspoken, and often gets ahead of himself. He often finds himself butting heads with Bluey, and the two even share a friendly rivalry from time to time. He provides some much-needed tension to an otherwise saccharine show. Without him, Bluey would perhaps be too cloying to watch, and that’s something no one wants.

4Bingo

A Ball Of Sunshine

Bingo is Bluey’s younger sister and partner in crime. The two are always up for questionable adventures in the world that exists in their own imagination, but Bingo has more chaotic energy to her than her sister. That’s probably because Bingo is still quite young and, thus, closer to the root of chaos.

Despite all her energy and imagination, Bingo isn’t always able to properly express her feelings. Bingo also has a sensitive side, showing empathy in the most surprising of situations. She’s a great stand-in for younger children who are just learning how to properly grasp their emotions but aren’t quite there yet.

3Bluey

She’s The Main Character!

Surprisingly, Bluey doesn’t come in first on the list of best characters forher own show. She’s still a great character, though, with lots of imagination and childlike wonder. Bluey is a force of nature, always bursting with energy and roping everyone around her into her world of play.

What makes Bluey an interesting protagonist is that unlike most main characters, she’s a proactive force. Bluey doesn’t stand around waiting for things to happen to her before she acts. Instead, she takes the initiative and decides to be the chaotic change she wants to see in the world.

2Chilli

Sweet, But Spicy

Bluey wouldn’t be quite the same show without the girls' mother, Chilli. While Chilli is also willing to encourage her children’s shenanigans, she’s far more subdued about it than her husband is. Chilli adds some much-needed stability to the chaos of the Heeler family.

Chilli is a smart, caring parent who’s easy to love as a character and acts as the show’s voice of reason. Like Bandit, she has some hidden depths to her, such as the revelation that she had a miscarriage at some point in an unspecified past. Her backstory adds a layer of shadow toan otherwise bright show.

1Bandit

#1 Dad

You probably knew this was coming. Bandit is both an amazing father and an amazing character, defined mainly by his commitment to the bit above all else. He’s always willing to go along with his daughters' escapades, although he can sometimes have a hard time keeping up.

Despite all his best efforts, however, Bandit isn’t perfect. He can be somewhat petulant at times, especially when his patience starts wearing thin. Still, Bandit does a great job of reining in the worst of his impulses. He’s by far the most entertaining character to watch and more than deserving of his fan base.
