10Change Of Heart

That’s A Nice Card, Shame If It Got Stolen

The ability to simply steal one of your opponent’s monsters will always be a play that goes unexpected. It’s even more unexpected in theage of archetypeswhere decks are strategically put together to perform within the means of their own cards.

Change of Heart, however, can allow you to borrow one of your opponent’s monsters until the end of the turn. Perhaps it works well with your archetype, and you can use it to your advantage, or you simply want to steal it to get rid of it. The possibilities are really up to you.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Card: Effect Veiler, With Background Art And TheGamer Logo

9Effect Veiler

Protection At The Most Crucial Time In A Duel

Hand Trapsare very evident in the TCG, and Effect Veiler still remains one of the better ones to add to your deck. It comes in seven different rarities, much like every card in this set, meaning it won’t be too hard or expensive to pick up.

Its effect allows you to negate one of your opponent’s monster’s effects during their turn. By utlising this card properly, you can not only save your precious cards that you need on the field for your next turn, but also stop your opponent from dominating the duel by combo summoning their stronger monsters.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Card: Lightning Storm, With Background Art And TheGamer Logo

8Lightning Storm

The Perfect Combination To Empty Your Opponent’s Field

The 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection is filled with reprints of previously expensive or hard-to-pull cards. Lightning Storm was one of these due to its incredible effects that can rescue you from a sticky situation.

While you have no face-up cards on the field, it can act as both a Mirror Force or a Harpie’s Feather Duster. Perfect for eliminating your opponent’s field of attacking monsters or their hidden defense of Spells and Trap cards. Either effect used will even out the game and put yourself on the front foot to counter and win the duel.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Card: Lava Golem, With Background Art And TheGamer Logo

7Lava Golem

Watch Your Opponent Burn Through Their LifePoints

While giving your opponent a 3,000 ATK monster may seem a bit silly, by summoning this card to their side of the field, utilising its effect, you not only get rid of two of their monsters but damage them for 1,000 LifePoints per turn. This makes Lava Golem perfect when you’re building a burn deck, or just as a card that can greatly affect your opponent’s strategy.

Running three of these in your deck ensures that your opponent always has something else to worry about, while also giving yourself the best chance of pulling it. You can then sit back and watch with your bestSeto Kaibagrin as your opponent slowly realises they’re burning out of the duel.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Card: Forbidden Droplet, With Card Art Used As Background And TheGamer Logo

6Forbidden Droplet

Some Sacrifices Need To Be Made

Forbidden Droplet is considered a deck breaker and is a card that will stop your opponent from performing one-turn wins. It does this by negating your opponent’s monster effects while also halving their ATK.

Doing this comes at the cost of discarding cards from your hand or field, and you will be better protected should you discard Spells, Traps, and Monsters as this will stop your opponent from countering this card’s activation. Playing this card does sometimes come at a cost to your own strategy, but there’s no denying it could save you the duel.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Card: Baronne De Fleur, With Background Art And TheGamer Logo

5Baronne De Fleur

Three Incredible Effects Make This The Best Synchro Monster

If there’s any Synchro card you need for your deck, it’s Baronne De Fleur. With a significant price slash due to being reprinted in this set, it’s now no longerpractically impossible to ownthisstaple card.

Baronne does a lot to benefit you in a duel, including negating effects, destroying cards, and being able to Special Summon Level Nine or lower monsters from your Graveyard once every turn. Also, with 3,000 ATK you can feel reassured knowing the card can hold its own on the field against some of the best cards.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Card: Triple Tactics Talent, With Card Art Used As Background And TheGamer Logo

4Triple Tactics Talent

Three Great Cards In One Package

Pot Of Greed, Change of Heart, and The Forceful Sentry all merge their effects into this one singular card. Although you can only choose one of these effects, every single one is there to benefit you in a duel and the best choice of the three simply comes down to your own circumstance.

Being able to draw two cards can help you search for something you’re desperately in need of. Stealing your opponent’s monster could result in you taking a powerful card off their side of the field. Or if you choose to shuffle a card into their deck from their hand, you could take away a crucial part of their strategy and set them back a couple of turns.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Card: Infinite Impermanence, With Card Art Used As Background And TheGamer Logo

3Infinite Impermanence

A Trap That Acts Like A Quick Play Spell Card

Yu-Gi-Oh! is typically a game that punishes you for burning through all your cards with no backup strategy should something go wrong. Infinite Impermanence, however, can save you in these situations. Unlike most standard Trap Cards, it can be played directly from the hand when you have no cards on the field.

For the perfect play, you will have this card already in your hand if you are forced to go second in a duel. This can instantly stop your opponent from comboing into their stronger monsters, and put you in the ideal position to counter on your turn.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Card: Pot of Prosperity, With Card Art Used As Background And TheGamer Logo

2Pot Of Prosperity

Search Through Half Of Your Deck

Pot of Prosperity is an exceptional card due to its searching ability. You’re able to dig up to six cards deep into your deck to look for a card you may desperately need. While the sacrifice of banishing six cards from your extra deck may seem steep, you do get to choose which cards get banished. Extra decks also come with a limit of 15 cards, so you could stack it with a few you know you’re not going to use.

You’re also able to play a playset of this card, which in turn could allow you to search through the next 15 cards in your deck. This can be upped to a maximum of 18, should you have a way to recover your banished extra deck monsters.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Card: Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, With Card Art Used As Background And TheGamer Logo

1Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring

Preventing The One-Turn KO

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring is the best card in the set, as it continues to be a coveted card in the TCG. As one of the strongest hand traps in the game, simply its presence in your hand can cause your opponent to think twice before executing certain plays.

Preventing your opponent from summoning monsters will always be beneficial in Yu-Gi-Oh!, especially in the era of archetypes that can endlessly summon each other to field their most powerful unit in one turn. Ash Blossom’s effectiveness in disrupting these kinds of strategies allows you to maintain control of the duel, resulting in your success.
