AsYu-Gi-Oh!celebrates its 25th Anniversary, we are treated to yet another incredible booster set. Age of Overlord acts as a fantastic addition to the TCG as it introduces new cards, archetypes, and an abundance of those super shiny Quarter Century Secret Rares that we can’t wait to pull.
With the introduction ofnew archetypessuch as Diabellstar, and support given to Odd-Eyes and T.G’s among others, Age of Overlord is a set that willhold its value. Although, while there are many amazing cards you need to add to your collection and decks in this set, there are some that stand out just a little bit more than the rest.

This list contains cards that could overtime become game-breaking, resulting in them appearing on Konami’s forbidden list.
10Infernal Flame Banshee
With severalPyro monstersintroduced in Age of Overlord and even more in the previous set,Soulburning Volcano, it’s no surprise a card like Infernal Flame Banshee has been printed. Whether you are looking for a specific card, or need certain cards in your Graveyard to kickstart their effects, Infernal Flame Banshee has you covered.
There are a lot of Pyro-themed decks that can take advantage of its useful effects, giving you another reason to bring straight Fire to your duels. With it also being only a Rank Four monster, it doesn’t even take much to get this card into play.

9T.G. Rocket Salamander
Age of Overlord revives the old T.G. archetype with T.G. Rocket Salamander. While T.G.s are an archetype witha lot of history, they haven’t been a strong option for a very long time. This new support opens that possibility back up for fans of the archetype. It allows you to search for any of your T.G. monsters in your Deck and even offers you revival to bring back those in your Graveyard.
One-Star Pyro Monsters have always seen some level of love, looking at you Raging Flame Sprite. So, given the synergy and searching power that T.G. Rocket Salamander can add to your deck, it’s without question one of the better cards of the set.

8Arias The Labyrinth Butler
While Labrynth decks have always managed to secure top place finishes in tournaments, they have missed out on the golden prize. However, with the addition of Arias the Labrynth Butler, Labrynth decks now have a chance at placing first on the competitive scene. This is due to its ability, allowing you to play Trap cards the same turn you set them.
However, Labrynth decks aren’t the only thing that will benefit from this card, and that’s what makes it so good. you’re able to slot Arias the Labrynth Butler into just about any generic Trap deck, and it will enhance it significantly. This is just another factor showcasing that Trap decks have finally caught up to speed with other competitive strategies.

7Exceed The Pendulum
Exceed The Pendulum might not seem like much, but the fact it offers support for any generic Pendulum deck is a welcome addition. This is because of its abilities to not only bring Pendulum monsters to your hand but also bring them back from the Graveyard. Because a fair portion of the stronger Pendulum cards are still limited to one, allowing you a chance to recycle them is an incredible effect.
Should other powerful Pendulum cards be taken off of the forbidden list, Exceed The Pendulum will undoubtedly become one of the go-to cards in any Pendulum deck as it’ll give you more cards to take advantage of its recycling power. This is most definitely a card to keep an eye on, and one that with a creative strategy can become an incredible staple.

6Berfomet The Mythical King Of Phantom Beasts
Chimera’s have seen a few bits of support especially from the set Duelist Nexus, but Berfomet the Mythical King Of Phantom Beasts is by far one to add to your deck. This is because it allows you to send any Beast, Fiend, or Illusion monster from your deck to the Graveyard, resulting in you being able to get specific cards sooner, or activate their Graveyard effects.
It also offers you protection by bringing back previously Banished monsters. With this card, Chimera decks remain viable and Berfoment the Mythical King of Phantom Beasts only increases their power and stability, creating a go-to strategy for those who enjoy playing Fusion decks.

5Imsety, Glory Of Horus
Horus decks allow you easy access to Level Eight monsters. In turn, this opens you up to Rank Eight XYZ monsters, which will allow you to have so many incredible cards at your disposal. Imsety, Glory of Horus is additional support for the archetype; which got a huge buff in Age of Overlord. Imsety, Glory of Horus gives you not only drawing power but also allows you to send cards to the Graveyard.
Pairing this with King’s Sarcophagus will only enhance your duels due to its ways of protection as well as searching power for all your Horus cards. Therefore, ideally you will want three copies of this card as well as King’s Sarcophagus as any additional chance to play those cards will increase your likelihood of winning.

4Diabellstar The Black Witch
Age of Overlord is so fantastic because it brings many interesting archetypes into the TCG. Diabellstar is one of these new archetypes that was born in Age of Overlord. It has incredible synergy with the Sinful Spoil spell cards also included in this set as they work together to create a summon, search, and play loop.
This and the Sinful Spoil Spell cards will need to be paired with a good Level One Fire monster, and while there are a few to choose from, such as T.G Salamander, you’ll need to keep in mind that you’ll still need to build your deck whatever you choose. The possibilities for this card are vast, and it’s really up to you how you choose to play it.

3King’s Sarcophagus
Imagine there’s a card that allows you to send cards you need to your Graveyard for free. Now imagine that card gives you the chance to do that four times a turn! That’s exactly what King’s Sarcophagus is. A new support card that enhances the Horus archetype.
Not only does this game-winning card have incredible searching power, but it also offers next-level protection. Stopping your Horus monsters from being destroyed by card effects and even sending your opponent’s monsters that you battle directly to the Graveyard.

You will want to pair this card with Insety, Glory of Horus.
2Wanted: Seeker Of Sinful Spoils
Sometimes Konami releases cards that are a little bit too good. That problem currently lies with Wanted: Seeker of Sinful Spoils. The card is used to bring out Diabellstar The Black Witch, who then allows you to get Original Sinful Spoils - Snake Eye. This doesn’t seem broken at all, except when you realise it’s able to repeatedly be used in a loop.
This combo can be countered with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring or Droll & Lock Bird, but if your opponent has neither, you may expect to put yourself in some fantastic positions in a Duel. Beware though, cards this good that slip through the cracks are subject to be added to the ban list eventually.

1S:P Little Knight
It’s no surprise that S:P Little Knight is the most expensive card in the entire set. This is because of how incredible the card actually is. With the use ofI:P Masquerenayou’re able to easily summon this on your opponent’s turn. Then when S:P Little Knight is in play you can banish a card on your opponent’s field or in their Graveyard. All with zero cost to you.
S:P Little Knight is undoubtedly going to change how the Extra Deck is played as it can work with so many different cards and strategies. However, when building a deck around S:P Little Knight, you’ll want to make sure you’re utilising a very good Link One to get the most out of it.
