The color blue in theOne Piece Card Gameoffers you many control options. Whether you want to constantly remove your opponent’s cards from play by sending them to the bottom of their deck with characters like Borsalino, or draw cards to defend your life with Kaido, this color’s playstyle lends itself to be as versatile as the player who pilots the deck.
In OP-05 Awakening Of The New Era, blue got a slew of new cards to support older archetypes like Navy and Animal Kingdom Pirates. These cards not only have synergy with each other but are also strong cards that can propel your deck into victory.

10Let Us Begin The World Of Violence!!!
Searchable Animal Kingdom Pirates event card
As of OP-05, the Animal Kindom Pirates archetype has many flavors for you to try out. With purple, you can play a deck that can ramp quickly and efficiently, but if you prefer a control-focused build, try the blue package.
This event card can control your opponent’s board by returning one of their characters to their hand and swinging the game’s tempo your way while drawing an extra card. This can set up your next turn with an extra counter or a future play.

9Monkey.D.Garp
OP-05 makes the Navy archetype seem like a great deck to play if you love drawing a lot of cards. Garp is a 2,000 power counter that on play lets you draw two cards and then send two of your cards from your hand to the bottom of your deck. Sometimes you need more counter-power, and you don’t need higher-cost cards in your hand at that moment.
With all the tools that Blue has to draw cards, you’re able to likely cycle through your entire deck and eventually get to the two cards you sent to the bottom.

8John Giant
The first giant in the Marines
Although this card is a bit underwhelming, John Giant is an excellent card to include in a Queen deck as a budget option. Queen’s healing effect can only be triggered when an eight drop is on the field. Those eight drops, usually high-powered characters like Dracule Mihawk orOP-04 Yamato, tend to run quite high in price, but with John Giant, you can proc Queen’s effect without breaking the bank.
This card doesn’t have a powerful effect like the aforementioned cards, but its massive 10,000 power can come in handy in many situations.

7Basil Hawkins
The Supernova that joined the Animal Kingdom Pirates
Low cost blockers can be great tools to combo your plays, but there are far more removal effects aimed towards them. Basil Hawkins’ high power and midrange cost, make him a great option for blue decks.
On block, Hawkins will draw you a card if you have less than three in your hand and will gain an extra 1,000 power during the battle, making it easier to counter and have your Hawkins survive. Whether you use Hawkins for an extra draw or an offensive attacker, he will be a great asset for your deck.

6Hina
Rear Admiral “Black Cage”
Blue’s ability to draw cards is unmatched in the One Piece Card Game. Hina’s three cost makes it easy to draw an extra card on your turn while keeping the pressure on your opponent with a body on the board.
She will require a DON!! attached to her to attack the opponent’s leader, sometimes two if you’re playing against Edward Newgate or Red Purple Luffy, but she can still help you clear small searchers that need to be rested to activate their effects.

5X.Drake
The double agent supernova
Blue has many ways to stack the top cards of your deck with cards likeOP-01 Perona and Donquixote Doflamingo. These cards facilitate your next draws or can send those cards to the bottom of your deck if you don’t need them immediately.
X.Drake does the same, but it comes coupled with stronger power and the blocker keyword. Blue cards can be a bit fragile so having a huge 6,000 power blocker can help in fast and aggressive matchups.

4Ulti
One of the best SRs in the set
This Ulti card is sure to be a blue staple from now on. As long as your leader is a multicolored leader, this card better be in your deck.
Just like X.Drake, Ulti can stack the top of your deck to follow up your next draws, but she can grab any card out of the top three. This card is one of the best in the set due to every single thing about it. Its low play cost, base 5,000 power, draw engine, future set up, and counter power. This card has everything.

3Kaido
The Captain of the Animal Kingdom Pirates
As one of the two Secret Rares from OP-05 Awakening Of The New Era, Kaido’s effect is well worth its rarity and beautiful gold foiling. His effect is simple: If your opponent has three or fewer life cards, you get to draw four cards when you play Kaido.
A card that lets you draw four is extremely powerful especially when its condition can be easily met, since most leaders start at four life. All you have to do is hit your opponent’s life once and your Kaido will come online.

2Borsalino
One of the three admirals
Compared to other blue removal cards like Dracule Mihawk, Borsalino’s bottom decking effect is a bit underwhelming. Mihawk can bottom deck a seven-cost character rather than Borsalino’s four-cost. What makes Borsalino stronger, and a better option for Navy decks, is his versatility. Combined with searchers like Brannew and cost reduction effects like leader Sakazuki, Borsalino’s removal range becomes far more versatile.
Using less DON!! Than cards like Mihawk, you have more avenues open to combo to other cards with Borsalino. For two less DON!!, Borsalino also has only 1,000 less power than Mihawk, making him very DON!! efficient.

1Hound Blaze
Sakazuki’s fearsome atatck!
Hound Blaze is one of the strongest removal cards in the game as of OP-05. After the rise of fast aggro decks likeZoro and Law, the sheer amount of small-cost characters that the decks were able to spam was overwhelming for players.
With Hound Blaze, these decks aren’t as much of a problem anymore, but this event card not only stops aggro, but can swing the tempo of the game your way by buffing one of your characters by 3,000 for the turn.
