One of the best things you can do with your Neopet is set them up in the Battledome. Here you can train their stats on Mystery Island, win levels from quests, and equip them with the coolest gadgets in all of Neopia (and beyond).
Over the decades, hosts of cool items have been released, retired, and then re-released. Sometimes as rare rewards for uncovering a plot, or sequestered away in the Hidden Tower. We’ve compiled a list of the absolute top tier items you need in the Battledome if you plan to take it seriously, though you’ll also need some serious Neopoints too.

16 icons
700,000NP

Restocks
Nowhere
A prize from the Festival of Neggs in 2021, the average price for this awesome sword is currently 700,000 NP on Shop Wizard. You can trade items of a similar price at the Trading Post, and they’ve been known to go for even less at the Auction House.
This is incredibly affordable for something that will never be released again, and the number of icons it does is unprecedented for the price point. Dealing a total of 16 icons, including the rarely-blocked Dark type, the Void Blade is an incredibly powerful constant weapon. The only item to effectively block all these icons would be a Ghostkershield, but that Hidden Tower price tag changes the playing field.

100% light, 20 icons
8 million NP

Hidden Tower
Speaking of the Hidden Tower, this is one of those items you should be saving your Neopoints for, as the Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield can go for up to 8 million! The other downside is that it’s so strong that using it is actually banned in League 97, a standardized two-player championship held in the Battledome.
What makes it so stand out is that it negates 100 percent of light damage, and twenty further icons, excluding fire and dark. That means that all lower-tier weapons are basically useless, and it will heavily affect plenty of rare weaponry too. The number of damage-dealing items that produce only fire and dark icons is pretty limited, so this shield will cover almost every base.

21-30 icons
7 million NP

Depending on your luck, this little guy can do between 21 and 30 icons of damage, which is one of the highest available anywhere. Dealing ten earth, ten fire, and between one and ten physical damage, the Ghostkerbomb is very difficult to manage. Even the Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield wouldn’t completely deflect that.
Costing an average of seven million NP and only restocking at the Hidden Tower, this is for those who are willing to train hard and put everything into the Battledome. you’re able to only equip one per Neopet, though who’s looking to splash out on two of these?

400,00 NP
If your Neopet has more than 100 hitpoints in its health pool, you need something with more oomph mid-battle. That’s where a delightful and warming broth comes into play, healing up your bruised Neopet for 50 percent max health.

And you’ll need someone to blow on it to cool it down, which is why it defends against 100 percent of air damage. Don’t burn your tongue! The Feel Better Soup was free in the Y24 Advent Calendar, and now goes for around 400,000 NP.

100% physical, 100% dark

4.5 million NP
This Tablet does it all. It damages, deflects, and heals your Neopet to the point of overheal up to 30 points. And, due to the fact it was once handed out freely for completing daily quests on the site, it’s actually very affordable at 4.5 million NP. The damage itself isn’t anything spectacular, but that isn’t why you equip the Mystical Tablet.

This unassuming item blocks all physical and dark icons completely, which makes a lot of very powerful weapons completely useless. It will then output nine icons of damage, and heal your Neopet between three and thirty hitpoints, even going over their max pool as a shield.
22 icons
40,000 NP
Tyrannian Weaponry
You won’t find anything cheaper that has the capacity to do quite so much damage anywhere. With a maximum of a whopping 22 icons this little gadget can turn any fight instantly, and you can even equip two at once for a ridiculous amount of damage.
Best in single-player fights, the Turned Tooth does purely physical and earth damage, which can be blocked pretty easily by human opponents when they see what you’re packing. It’s the mega-low price that really makes this the weapon to have, even when you’re just starting out. It currently sits at around 90,000 NP on Shop Wizard, however it restocks at Tyrannian Weaponry for less than 40,000 NP.
32 icons
Smuggler’s Cove
Hands down, this is the best purely offensive item in Neopets and its history. The Super Attack Pea comes soaring in with a massive 32 icons of damage, split between earth and air. To top it off, there is currently no defensive item available that can effectively block earth and air, so your opponent would need to use two items just to attempt to survive your Attack Pea.
It restocks at the Smuggler’s Cove for 200 Dubloons. On the market, its immense power is matched by its immense price tag. Sitting at around 450 million NP on the Trading Post, you’ll really need toplay those featured gamesif you want to walk into battle with one of these up your sleeve.
21-29 icons
200 million NP
The Wand of the Dark Faerie doesn’t do as much damage as the Super Attack Pea, but it sits higher on our list because of its diversity and coverage. Not only does it put out 21 to 29 icons of dark and physical damage, it also reflects 75 percent of all light damage. On top of that, if your Neopet is below 25 percent max health, it will heal them for 25 percent.
It’s cheaper than the Attack Pea, often sitting around 200 million NP, and can be claimed as a reward for completing 50quests for Jhudora the Dark Faerie. This item is truly legendary and alone in its own class.
100%
10,000 NP
Quest Reward
A total heal is the best kind of heal, and as only one healing item can be equipped each battle, why would you choose anything else? The Lucky Robot’s Foot (not so lucky for the robot) can be won from quests such as the Brain Tree and from various faeries. However, at the moment it only costs 10,000 NP on the Shop Wizard, so just snatch one up from a local shopkeeper.
Other than being stolen, there isn’t anything to counter a full heal, and if you feel you need one for a big battle coming up, then this is the cheapest option.
135,000 NP
Defence Magic
The only thing on par with this amulet is the Castle Defenders Shield, which was given out in 2003 and rarely seen since. Thyora’s Tear, captured when the faerie mourned the loss of her partner, offers full protection for one round, once per battle. Time its use right and everything changes.
Every kind of damage is 100 percent blocked by this, and it costs a lot less than you might imagine. If you’re incredibly lucky, you can snag it from Defence Magic for around 135,000 NP. And if you value money over Battledome prowess, you can sell it on for 160 million NP.
