Summary

Palworldis a unique game in that it combines elements from a myriad of genres, ranging from monster-taming to base-building survival to third-person shooter. With that being the case, several mechanics that may normally seem unrelated are included in the game, one of them being crafting.

In Palworld, not only do youcraft things at your base, but you can have your Pals help you with that, even going into automation via electricity. One very crucial item type that you can craft is armor. Especially in the mid to late game, armor can be crucial, and here are the best ones you can make.

Metal Armor is the first strong armor you can get your hands on in Palworld. It is unlocked relatively early and is the absolute best budget option until you approach the late game.

Palworld: Refined Metal Armor in front of blurred background

While nothing special in itself, the fact that you can get it at this level is invaluable. The jump from Pelt Armor to Metal Armor is substantial, and it will likely allow you to defeat some problematic bosses you couldn’t earlier. Prioritize this item as soon as you can.

Metal Armor is great, but why not craft a version that’s breezier and lets your character feel the wind more? The Heat Resistant Metal Armor has the same Defense as the regular form, but it allows you to gain a sizable heat resistance.

In Palworld, both extreme heat and cold can be deadly. Depending on the region you’re exploring, you might realize your HP ticking down due to extreme weather. Thus, weather-resisting armors are simply more versatile versions of the good old classic.

You can get Flame Organs from most Fire Pals by either capturing or killing them.

While resisting the scorching heat of some areas is very useful, resisting the cold of the night may be a bit more useful in the relatively early game. Especially if you lack the patience to wait for the morning or want to encounter some of the Pals that only spawn at night, this armor is for you.

There are a few ways to bypass this in other ways. You canhave a Fire Pal near youas both a light and heat source. You could also opt for the RPG classic, a torch. Still, though, letting your armor warm you and using whatever tools and Pals you need is extremely convenient.

You can get Ice Organs from most Ice Pals by either capturing or killing them.

Refined Metal Armor is the next step in the evolution of clothing in Palworld. You get access to this one quite a bit later than regular Metal Armor, but it’s so worth it once you do. You will also need a bit of rare materials, so verify you’re putting in the work.

This armor is more than twice as defensive as your old Metal Armor, and you will instantly feel it once you wear it. This armor alone will deem some of the boss fights doable that once seemed impossible. Refined Metal Armor is so great that it only begins feeling weaker nearing the end-game.

You read that right; this piece of armor is just a Helmet, but it’s better than all previous entries. While this item is available near the end of the game, it’s so strong that you’ll feel the impact in the last few levels you have left.

The single thing that elevates this item is that it’s stackable with all other armors on this list, as it only occupies a head slot. Getting the same defense you’d get from a Refined Metal Armor from a headpiece is incredibly strong, and you should absolutely strive to get it ASAP.

In Palworld, there are three versions of most armor: a regular one, a heat-resistant one, and a cold-resistant one. Somewhat unintuitively, though, the resistant versions of the same armor also provide better defenses in most cases. Thus, both of the weather-tuned versions of the Refined Metal Armor are better than its simple version.

At the point where you get this armor, you should already be more than capable of conquering the nights. That’s not to say that cold resistance is without value; it just means heat resistance becomes more beneficial after a certain point in the game.

Speaking of, the Heat Resistant Refined Metal Armor is the best one among its peers. Fire is, without discussion, the best element in the game, and you’ll be hunting tons of bosses and rare Pals in areaswhere even the ground you stand on makes you burn.

With that being the case, having resistance to the annoying heat of certain regions can be extremely powerful. That way, you can forget about the weather and start focusing on how you’re going to take down that one troublesome Pal, fun stuff!

The single best armor you’re able to get in the game is the Pal Metal Armor. This makes sense, as it’s only obtainable once you’re level 46 out of a possible 50.

While this item requires several resources that are a hassle to get in the first place, the result is absolutely worth it. Sure, you could still survive with a Refined Metal Armor and a Pal Metal Helm, but the upgrade is absolutely worth it.

you’re able to craft Pal Metal Ingots in an Electric Furnace. Or defeat one of Astegon, Paladius,Necromus, or Shadowbeakfor a potential drop.

Just like with Refined Metal Armor, Pal Metal Armor gets even stronger once you slap a weather resistance onto it. These augmented versions of the Pal Metal Armor are objectively the strongest armors you can get.

When comparing the two versions, Cold Resistant Pal Metal is unfortunately still inferior to its cousin. At this point in the game, you’ll most likely be occupied with completion and hunting rare bosses. With that being the case, resistance to heat is ever so slightly more impactful than resistance to cold. Still, if you have more Ice Organs and not enough Flame Organs, this is far from a mediocre armor.

As mentioned before,Fire element Pals, who usually live in extremely hot areas, are likely going to be your biggest hurdles once you get this armor. Ragnahawk, Kitsun, and Jormuntide Ignis are only a few of the absolutely broken Fire Pals that you might have to face.

This armor, when combined with the amazing Pal Metal Helm, boosts your Defense up to the maximum it can be. While this is the end-game sort of item that you craft only for the final few battles, it’s more than worth it to have the materials ready to go. This item is the be-all end-all, and you’ll want to be wearing it in your final stretch of Palworld.
