When it comes to unique builds inLies of P, the Advance build doesn’t just take the crown; it will beat you with it. Prioritizing dealing heavy damage over time rather than in a single hit, sly Advance users prioritize status effects and let time do the heavy lifting for them. If you’re tired of those pesky bosses slowly healing over time, fear not; the Advance build may be for you.
Raw damage is not the only seller of the Advance Build either. You’ll have opportunities for increased Destruction damage and stagger build-up as well as decreased monsters' HP regain. While status effects are active, you’ll also deal increased physical damage with each of your attacks. And the best part of it all is that Advance Builds are viable from the near beginning!

When choosing your starting class, the optimal build will be a Balance build, but you don’t need to fret if you decide to go with one of the other two instead. A Balance build, however, will ensure you won’t suffer in damage when swapping between the two early-game weaponsyou’ll be primarily using.
While leveling,Advance will be your primary leveling stat,as it will not only affect your damage but also your status-effect defense and Legion Arm capacity. However, as you continue leveling, you must prioritize more Vitality and Advanceuntilthe Soft Capreturns become too potent.

Capacity and Vigor should eventually be taken to a minimum of 25once Vitality and Advance have reached the levels more conducive to your play style.
In very late levels, likely in New Game+, you can consider adding Motivity or Dexterity to increase your physical damage negation.

Salamander Dagger
Third Weapon
Acidic Crystal Spear (Original or Salamander Blade + Crystal Spear Handle)
Circular Electric Chainsaw Blade + Electric Coil Stick Handle
Final Weapon
Acidic Great Sword (Original or Black Steel Cutter + Acidic Great Sword Handle)
Due to the technicalities of the Advance Build, you’ll seea lot of forging and trial-and-error when adventuring through Krat. However, the early game is very simple due to a lack of good Advance weapons.

You’ll begin with theElectric Coil Stick from the Wandering Merchanton Elysion Boulevardtouse throughout the rest of the first area, and thenVenigni Works thanks to its effectiveness against puppets.
After findingthe Salamander Daggerin Venigni Works, you’llswitch to this weapon in the later half of the Moonlight Town and onwardthanks to the number of carcasses weak to Fire damage. It will carry you tothe Path of the Pilgrim where you’ll find the Acidic Crystal Spear.

The spear can beused as is or forged with the Salamander Dagger’s blade.Which one you use will depend on your playstyle and tastes, butyou can always switch out the blades on a case-by-case basis.
When you need the dagger, always forge with the Acidic Crystal Spear handle for increased weapon scaling. As ever, remember to use the Advance Crank on the handle to increase its scaling from A to S.

In the late game, you’ll have far more options, andeventually, you’ll have access tothe Circular Electric Chainsaw. When you have it, you shouldswap the handle for the Electric Coil Stick handlefor a faster, offensive Fable Art option and overall increased speed.
The Circular Electric Chainsaw forge will be your final Electric Blitz-based weaponto use for the remainder of the game.

Yourendgame Acid and Fire weapons will be the Black Steel Cutter(a rare weapon found in the Hermit’s Cave)and Acidic Great Sword.
To conserve materials, we recommend using theAcidic Great Sword’s handle as the base and switching out the blade on a case-by-case basislike the Salamander Dagger and Acidic Crystal Spear combo. This will also mean you’ll have access to a quick weapon (your spear combo) and a heavy, damage dealing and defensive weapon (your Great Sword combo) to switch between depending on your needs and preference.
This buildwill alsobenefit greatly from thrown consumableslike Throwing Cells, Thermite, and Canisters, thanks to their Advance scaling, which you can purchase in limitless supply from the Wandering Merchant at the Red Lobster in the Malum District.
Best Legion Arms For An Advance Build
Legion Arms are where this build shines the most,so if you’re not someone who remembers to use Legion Arms often, this build may not be for you.Fulminis, Flamberge, and Pandemoniumwill be your primary arms andshould beswitched depending on the circumstance and the point of the gameyou’re playing:
Best P-Organ Upgrades For An Advance Build
Advance Build P-Organ upgrades are simple, andyou’ll want to prioritize having more (and more effective) Pulse Cells and Amulet Slotswhen the opportunity arises. Otherwise, theseadditional upgrades are recommended:
Grindstones are added here because of their late-game use in grindstones like increased Critical and Increased Perfect Guard. The latter is easily the best grindstone to use for this build.
Otherwise, your additions to your P-Organ upgradesshouldprioritize skills that increase the effectiveness and longevity of your Legion Arm (Ability Types).Upgrades like gaining Legion Recharge when defeating an enemy or regaining Legion over time are highly recommended.
Additionally, increasing your available Consumables(Item Types) will be a great boon, andyou cannot forget to invest in Reduce Item Priceswhen using Consumables.
Slot 4
Carcass Butcher/Murderer Puppet/Puppet Destroyer Amulets
The greatest downfall of the Advance Build is thelack of access to good physical damage negation,as you’ll be relying on Perfect Guards to negate damage potential as well as heavier defensive items. However, you can negate some of that by choosing the Iron Wall Amulet, which will increase your physical defenses as a staple of your build, until very late in the game and into New Game+.
Otherwise, we canrecommend the Patience Amulet for increased Stamina Regeneration- an S-tier amulet incredibly useful in any build.
TheConquering Amulet will allow you to deal massive damage while focusing on Perfect Guards, increasing the Advance build’s somewhat lacking initial damage output. Meanwhile, amulets like the Carcass Butcher’swhich deal extra damage based on enemy type are recommended and should bechanged out depending on your need.
The fourth amulet slot will likely not be filled out for the majority of your run, soif you find yourself wanting to keep two weapons in your inventory, we recommend switching the Conquering Amulet out for the Carrier’s Amulet +1.Defensive Parts should take priority over conditional damage when trying a build you’re not used to.
