Ah, Calamity, the remarkably challengingTerrariamod designed for anyone who wants to stuff their game with a mind-boggling amount of brand-new weapons, armor, minions, biomes, NPCs, ores, tools, and most importantly, bosses. You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t want to hear about the bosses, right?

Whether you’ve played just a little bit and want to know which bosses you’ll have to steel your nerves for, or you simply have a latent curiosity about the hardest, most terrifying bosses this mod can throw at you, you’ve arrived at the right place. Although, it might be best if you’re just in it for the information; you won’t have to lose your sanity that way.

While everyone can have different boss experiences due to a variety of factors, the bosses listed were primarily given weight based on the world stage, gear, and resources you typically will have when fighting them.

8The Slime God

Out of all the Pre-Hardmode bosses you fight, The Slime God can give you quite a hassle, especially if you aren’t well-prepared. As the large slime paladins you’re whittling down lose their health, they will spawn smaller slimes, and once one is defeated, the other will be buffed, either with doubled defense or increased attack rates.

Plus, these slimes really don’t want you to use your movement; depending on how many tiles away you are, this boss will either suddenly speed up and leap toward you or instantly teleport on top of you, inflicting contact damage. Oh, and just for good measure, the slime god can possess one of the paladins, enhancing damage, defense, and AI behavior.

7The Plaguebringer Goliath

If you’ve fought the Queen Bee from the base game numerous times, that’ll make The Plaguebringer Goliath a bit easier since it has the same horizontal charge attack. However, this flying machine has other attacks it’ll throw at you, like homing stingers and rockets.

As The Plaguebringer’s health drops, its damage, speed, and erratic behavior will increase. If you’re brave enough to play on Expert mode or even harder difficulties, she’ll have a second phase that gives a new attack, dashing above you and raining down a barrage of missiles.

6Ravager

The Ravager is similar to the base game’s Golem boss but has quite a bit of damage resistance and a large health pool, which can make the fight take some time, even if you’ve perfected dodging its fast, high-damage attacks.

Since this boss likes to control your movement by jumping around and following you, firing homing nukes, and spamming lasers, an ideal time to fight is after Golem has been defeated, you’ve invested in some movement-enhancing gear, and built a basic arena so you can grapple around.

5Astrum Deus

Astrum Deus is fairly similar to The Destroyer, as it behaves like a worm and fires lasers from each segment of its body. Although, once below 50 percent health, Astrum Deus will alternate between burrowing through the ground and flying.

While flying, this boss will both leave behind an increasing number of mines that explode after some time and have their speed increased as their health decreases. This boss is particularly difficult without a weapon capable of piercing damage, and movement-wise, circling the boss or staying still isn’t advised due to the high volume of mines.

Providence, a boss from the Calamity mod, is seen with her glowing, fiery red and yellow wings in the underworld.

4Providence, The Profaned Goddess

From having to fight in the underworld and avoiding the Holy Inferno debuff, which inflicts high damage over time if you stray too far away from her, to a vast array of attacks, multiple phases, and dealing with the profaned guardians she summons when at a third of her health, Providence, The Profaned Goddess is no joke.

Even with high-mobility gear, like wings, heavily upgraded boots, and other accessories, you’ll have to steel yourself for an aggressive, bullet hell experience. At the same time, Providence, and eventually her guardians, charge you constantly. Also, hopefully you have high DPS because Providence has a pretty big health pool.

3Yharon, Dragon Of Rebirth

Yharon can be a big wall for players, as it is the first majorly challenging boss in the mod. Even on the easiest difficulty, this boss is incredibly fast and deadly, thanks to his two main phases and five subphases, which change both the attacks he uses and his overall behavior. He even boxes you in with massive flame pillars at the start of the fight.

With attacks that can deal hundreds of points of damage, 90 defense, and a minimum health bar of almost 2.5 million, you need to prepare as much as possible and expect to die countless times as you learn Yharon’s attacks. Keep fortune, glory, and perseverance on your mind, and you should eventually triumph.

2Exo Mechs

As can be inferred by the name, the Exo Mechs are technically four bosses packaged into a single fight. Each mech has its own unique attacks and behavior, and altogether, you’ll have to deal with increasingly damaging and speedy attacks from laser, tesla, and plasma cannons, as well as gauss nukes and other attacks.

The boss has a whoppingseven phasesto deal with, which is up there withvideo game bosses that have absurd amounts of phases. Since there’s only so much preparation you’re able to do, you’ll have to whittle down a 3.4 million point health bar while relying on your dodging skills and proper targeting since not all pieces of the boss have the same resistance values.

Multiple red enemies and projectiles, such as a long, skeletal enemy and giant red circles with scary faces are seen with a black background behind them.

1Supreme Witch, Calamitas

Supreme Witch, Calamitas doesn’t get the number one spot just because she is the final, post-Moon Lord boss in the mod, or because she deals the most damage out of any boss through a unique, 20-attack cycle. She’s the hardest because, upon spawning, she forces you to fight in a 157x157 tile box since leaving the box enrages her and gives her a 99 percent damage reduction.

In addition, she becomes completely invulnerable during certain bullet hell phases, and upon reaching eight percent of her max health, spawns a demonic, skeletal worm that flies around, firing Brimstone Darts at you. If you can beat this boss legitimately, you are truly a Terraria master.
