Sister Argenta is one of the first companions you’ll recruit inWarhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. As a Battle Sister of the Adepta Sororitas, she’s a skilled combatant with unwavering devotion to the Imperium’s godly Emperor. Argenta is one of the best characters in the game when it comes to ranged combat, and she excels from just outside of melee reach.
Argenta’s base build is designed to eliminate multiple enemies in a single turn, quickly thinning the ranks of the foe before turning her righteous fury on bigger targets. Pick these Talents when leveling her up to get the most out of this holy warrior-nun!

Argenta works best by leveling up into theArch-MilitantArchetype; this list was built with that progression scheme in mind.
8Flensing Faith
The Enemies Of Humanity Shall Burn
Argenta’s job as a Battle Sister is to safeguard the souls of humanity with lethal force.Flensing Faithallows her todeal extra damage to psykers, daemons, and xenoswhile using melee attacks, flame weapons, and melta weapons.
Even if you’re sticking with a boltgun-centric build for Argenta,a hand flamer or melta pistolmakes an excellent sidearm for her, alongside a chainsword or other one-handed melee weapon. You’ll face off against psykers fairly early, but daemons and xenos are mercifully rare until you’re well into the game;you don’t have to take Flensing Faith right away, but you should definitely take it at some point.

7Trace The Trajectory
Vengeance For The Faithful
Argenta can equip Power Armor, but you won’t find any of the Imperium’s finest protection for a long, long time. Until then, she’sbetter off making smart use of coverto avoid enemy attacks.Trace The Trajectory, available as part of her starting Soldier Archetype, lets her severley punish any foe that fires on her and misses.
If Argenta avoids an attack due to cover or her own Dodge chance with this Talent, her next attack against that enemyis an automatic critical hit.

6Rapid Reload
Tireless In Prayer And Battle
When in doubt, a good strategy with Argenta is simply tounleash burst fireand trust in the Emperor to guide her shots. This, of course, means that Argenta will run out of ammo more often that other characters. You won’t always have enoughMomentumto take advantage of thefree reload offered by Firearms Mastery, soRapid Reloadhelps keep the Battle Sister doing what she does best.
Rapid Reload causes the first reload Argenta performs in a fight tocost 0 AP, and all others to cost two less than normal, to a minimum of one.

5Accustomed To Glory
United In Holy Purpose
Once Argenta becomes an Arch-Militant, the real fun begins. Argenta’sWar Hymnalready helps fuel Heroic Acts by building up the team’s Momentum, especially when she’s surrounded or has hit several enemies in one turn.Accustomed To Glorylets you capitalize on those Heroic Acts.
Whenever any member of the party uses a Heroic Act or Desperate Measure, Accustomed To Glory gives Argenta+2 damage on all her attacksfor the remainder of the fight. That can really add up in longer engagements!

Pride Of The Schola Progenium
Another Arch-Militant Talent that makes Argenta a fierce warrior isBroad Expertise. It increases her Weapon Skill by twice her Ballistics Skill bonus, and her Ballistics Skill by twice her Weapon Skill bonus.
Most builds for Argenta should seek tomaximize her Ballistics Skill, but sometimes the right play is to rev up her chainsword and wade into melee. Broad Expertise lets her handle herself much better in close combat, both in terms oflanding hits and parrying blows.

This Talent is also important for maximizing Versatility stacks as an Arch-Militant!
3Bolt Weapon Expert
Hammer Of The Emperor
Of all the weaponry in Warhammer 40K’s vast arsenal, there is no firearm more emblematic of the setting than the bolter. Argenta starts the game proficient withthe chosen weapon of the Emperor’s finest, and bolters will serve well as her primary weapon throughout the game.
Bolt weapons are fine, but not great, against armored foes - takingBolt Weapon Expertincreases their armor penetration, reducing your need to occasionally switch to a meltagun, which eats up Talent and Weapon slots.

2Close-Quarters Training
Unimpeded By Doubt
A swing with a melee weapons is usually all it takes to dispatch a run-of-the-mill cultist, and can help build up stacks of Versatility, but withClose-Quarters Training, Argenta can visit her wrath on enemies with a point-blank burst of bolter fire!
This talent lets the Battle Sisterfire a two-handed weaponwhile in melee range of an enemy, which is normally prohibited. Against large targets like daemons, the to-hit penalty won’t matter much - when Argenta chooses to spray and pray, she knows the Emperor will answer.

Firing a ranged weapon with an enemy in melee reach can still trigger an attack of opportunity - be sure that Argenta can take the hit!
1Rack And Ruin
Gripped With Holy Fervor
Between her clip-emptying hails of boltgun shells, arcing chainsword sweeps, and liberal application of flamer spreads, it’s a good bet that Argenta willhit multiple enemieson most turns.Rack And Ruin, available early on in the Soldier Archetype, lets her keep the pain train rolling.
When Argenta damages three different enemies, her next attack in the same battle dealstwenty percent more damage. That’s a great time to break out a high-damage weapon like a meltagun, orload her up with buffsfrom Cassia or another Officer in preparation for a strike worthy of the Primarchs themselves.
