No matter how much of the other resources you have in your possession, you won’t be going far in SteamWorld Build if you don’t have the Money to find your dreams. Money can be earned in several ways- from taxing your residents to trading with visiting trains.
However, Money can just as easily be lost, putting your city in a tight squeeze where it can’t sustain its own expansion. It’s the one resource you will always need and the one resource you think you always have enough of until, all of a sudden, your coffers are near empty.
