TheBattlegroundsgame mode was added toHearthstoneback in 2019. Not long after that, the achievement system arrived, and Battlegrounds had its own subsection. But despite being able to complete them for several years, there’s a good chance you don’t have all of the Battlegrounds achievements just yet, even if you play the game mode relatively frequently.

Some of them just take a while to do, but others are quite difficult, requiring you to play in an extremely abnormal manner. Here are some of the most challenging achievements the Battlegrounds have to offer.

Lightfang Enforcer and Drakkari Enchanter Hearthstone Battlegrounds Full Art

10My Shiny Fangs And Me

Requirements: End Seven Consecutive Turns With A Lightfang Enforcer In Play

If you are truly committed, this Fairly OddParents-themed achievement shouldn’t be too difficult to finish (though Lightfang Enforcer hasn’t been strong in a while, so you probably won’t win the lobby after that). The only potential pitfall is that Lightfang is a Tier 5 minion, so there’s a chance you’ll either win the lobby or die before it has been on your board for seven turns.

The real trick that makes this achievement difficult is that Lightfang has rotated in and out of the game on multiple occasions. At the time of writing, it’s not available, so this achievement is technically impossible. That said, it will almost certainly be back, at which point My Shiny Fangs and Me will be available once again.

Amalgam and Menagerist Full Art Hearthstone Battlegrounds

9Lost “Dog”, Call Curator

Requirements: End Your Turn With The Amalgam In Play While Not Playing As The Curator

Along with being quite the mouthful of an achievement, Lost “Dog”, Call Curator is an unusual case. It isn’t exactly difficult in theory, as there are many ways to get the Amalgam as a non-Curator hero. One of the easiest is to play against the Curator as Tess Greymane, then useyour Hero Powerto buy the Amalgam the next round.

The biggest problem with all of the methods is that you’ll need to be in a lobby with the Curator for them to work, and you’re able to’t be the one to choose the hero. As a result, the achievement is difficult to force, since it relies entirely on your opponent’s choices.

Lord Barov, Chaperone Barov, and Stouthoof Barov Hearthstone Battlegrounds Skins

8Salty Bets

Requirements: Guess The Correct Outcome Of Friendly Wagers (Lord Barov’s Hero Power) Three Turns In A Row

Lord Barov’s Hero Power allows you to guess which of two opponents will win an upcoming fight. How easy that is for you is going to depend on a few factors. First and foremost is how much attention you’ve been paying during the game; the more knowledge you have of how your opponents are performing, the easier it will be to guess correctly. Second is your own knowledge of Battlegrounds, which you’ll need to turn your information into successful bets.

And there is an element of luck, of course. Even if you correctly determine which player is favored, there’s still no guarantee you’ll be right three times in a row. As with any type of gambling, there’s always a chance you just get unlucky, which could dramatically prolong the amount of time required to finish the Salty Bets achievement.

Grand Entertainer Akazamzarak, The Great Akazamzarak, Crashin' Thrashin' Akazamzarak Hearthstone Battlegrounds Skins

7Comeback King

Requirements: Finish In First Place After Having Your Ice Block Triggered As The Great Akazamzarak

Ice Block triggering means you are in a bad enough spot that you should be dead. Recovering from that situation can be tough; more often than not, it just gives you an extra round or two before you’re done. That can be quite helpful, as it can easily make the difference between finishing in the top or bottom four, but it doesn’t make you a Comeback King.

But sometimes Ice Block gives you just enough time to get your build going and take over the lobby. Those opportunities can be few and far between, though, so verify you take advantage of them.

Divn' Daryl, Dancin' Daryl, and The Invisible Murloc Hearthstone Battlegrounds Skins

6Hats On Hats On Hats

Requirements: Place 30 Hats On One Minion As Dancin' Deryl

The Hats on Hats on Hats achievement is something you have to force, as the odds of it happening in normal play are really quite low. Getting 30 hats on a minion with seven on the board would require either exceptional luck or buying and selling an absurd amount.

As a result, you need to cheat the system a bit, keeping one minion on the board, then buying and selling until you get the appropriate number of hats. Of course, you will almost definitely lose the game after that, but at least you’ll have this achievement.

Harth Stonebrew, Bartendotron, and Fizzy Hearthstone Battlegrounds

5Pretzel Mustard

Requirements: Finish In First Place Without Losing A Round

If you play Battlegrounds enough, it’s not hard to get the Pretzel Mustard achievement eventually. But if you intend to get it immediately, you’ll need quite a few attempts. In normal play, losing a round or two often doesn’t matter. In fact, accepting early losses to level more quickly can be a good strategy.

For this achievement, none of that applies. You’ll need a strong enough start to get through the early turns with at least a draw, at which point you must walk the line between maintaining a strong board while setting up for late-game success.

Primalfin Lookout, Brann Bronzebeard, Murozond Hearthstone Battlegrounds Full Art

4Ruler Of Thirds

Requirements: Get Ten Triples In One Game

Tripling minions is something that happens all the time in Battlegrounds. But to get the highest level of the Ruler of Thirds achievement, you’ll need to do it way more than normal. Ten triples is a massive number compared to what you’ll get in the average game.

Fortunately, there are a lot of factors that can make this achievement much easier to accomplish in current Battlegrounds. Some Heroes give you extra gold and copy minions in your hand, and certain Anomalies do things like give you extra copies of minions when you buy them.

Young Murk-Eye, Sister Deathwhisper, and Charlga, Hearthstone Battlegrounds Full Art

3Terrible Terrible Damage

Requirements: Deal 40 Damage To An Enemy Hero In One Hit

You can deal some impressively large damage numbers in Battlegrounds, but getting to the 40 you need to attain the highest level of the Terrible Terrible Damage achievement is surprisingly tricky.

Having a full board of Tier 5 minions won’t even come close; you need at least five Tier 6 minions and two Tier 5s to hit the number exactly, and most builds aren’t going to include anywhere close to that many. The recent introduction ofTier 7 minionsto Bob’s Tavern does make the math a little easier, but it’s still no mean feat.

Study Kay, Sunlounger A. F. Kay, and A. F. Kay Hearthstone Battlegrounds Skins

2BRB

Requirements: Finish In First Place After Afking Your Third Turn As A. F. Kay

A. F. Kay isn’t exactly the most powerful Hero available in the Battlegrounds; skipping your first two turns puts you at a significant disadvantage early on, and if you get unlucky with the minions you get from her Hero Power, you basically just lose the game.

The brb achievement forcing you to skip a full turn again after that can be impossible to overcome even if the minions you get are quite strong. On the plus side, most failed attempts will result in your extremely rapid death, so it won’t take long to figure out if your current run is going to succeed.

Mega Bob, Bartender Bob, Dragonspeaker Bob Hearthstone Battlegrounds

1Spicy Pretzel Mustard

Requirements: Finish In First Place While Winning Every Round

Taking first place in a Battlegrounds lobby is tricky enough under normal circumstances; doing so without even drawing a single fight is practically impossible. Attempts to get this achievement will often fail in the first round of combat, where ties are extremely common.

Even after that, having the power to win early battles while setting yourself up for late-game success requires you to highroll extremely hard. Even the best players will find it difficult to accomplish, as it relies as much on luck as skill, if not more so.
