When it comes to dropping targets from afar, there’s no better companion inWarhammer 40,000: Rogue Traderthan Yrliet Lanaevyss. Her species, the Aeldari, are known for highly-specialized, elite warriors, and Yrliet is no exception. She’s a master sniper, taking full advantage of the Operative and Assassin Archetypes to eliminate foes with deadly precision.
Yrliet’s build strategy is just as laser-focused as her aim; Assassins can be built for melee or sniping, so it’s important to choose Talents geared toward the latter when leveling her up. The following picks will make this Outcast a key part of your team.

10Lone Killer
Mon-Keigh Make Poor Company
It’s an understatement to say that Yrliet is standoffish around her human companions; the Aeldari take a dim view of humans, and the Imperium’s trademark xenophobia doesn’t help matters. WithLone Killer, Yrliet is at her best when she’s alone - as she prefers to be.
As long as there are no allies within five spaces of Yrliet, shegains 10 Dodgeandignores up to 10 Dodge on her enemies.Considering that she’ll spend most of her time at the extreme rear of the battlefield, this shouldn’t be a hard requirement to meet unless you have another sniper on the team.

9Seize The Advantage
Aeldari Grace Is Unmatched
The Assassin Archetype is built aroundgaining stacks of Lethality, which translates into large amounts of damage later in the fight.
By default, an Assassin’s Lethality starts equal to their Dodge or Dodge Reduction, whichever is higher.

Seize The Advantagegives you a quick way of gaining Lethality bytargeting disabled foes.Whenever Yrliet hits an opponent that isslowed, immobilized, or haemorrhaging(see below), she gains 15 Lethality for each of those effects.
8Deadly Calculation
Cegorach Always Finds An Opening
On its own,Deadly Calculationdoesn’t do a lot, but it’s important for setting up other Talents that you’ll take later. At first, it grants a little extra damage here and there, and it can come into its own in the late game when Yrliet starts to put up ludicrous damage numbers.
With this Talent, Yrlietdeals one point of direct damageto her targets for every ten points of normal damage that gets through. Direct damageignores all defensive stats and bonuses. At face value, this translates to aten percent increase in Yrliet’s overall damageoutput.

7Death Whisper
Bosses and elite enemies won’t be taken down by a single shot, but Yriel can usesDeath Whisperto speed things up. This is afree attackthat only deals one-quarter of the weapon’s normal damage, butinflicts haemorrhage on the target.
Haemorrhaging enemiessuffer damage equal to one-tenth of Yrliet’s Lethalityat the start of their turn. For particularly big foes, you can combo Death Whisper with Seize The Advantage, repeatedly shooting the target to gain Lethalityand increasing the amount of haemorrhage damage that they take!

The damage from haemorrhageignores Armor and Deflection, making it a great way handle tanky enemies.
6Carmine Whisper
The Asuryani Are No Strangers To Bloodshed
Carmine Whisperis a direct upgrade to Death Whisper, causing its haemorrhage effect todeal ten additional damage on the target’s turn.
This effectively gives Yrliet anadditional 100 Lethalitywhen calculating haemorrhage damage, making it an astonishingly valuable and efficient selection.

5Disarray
Morai-Heg Laughs, For This Was Foretold
TakingDisarrayis when all of your previous Talent picks for Yrliet start to come together. Whenever she deals direct damage, usually viaDeadly Calculation, the target takes an Agility test. Failing the testslows the target until the end of their next turn, setting up Yrliet to gain Lethality with a followup shot.
The Agility test suffers a penalty equal totwice Yrliet’s own Agility bonus, making it much more likely that the effect will land.

4Perfect Opening
Vaul’s Hammer Strikes With Precision
Yrliet’s build doesn’t focus that much on the Assassin Archetype’s Openings feature, butPerfect Openingmakes it count when she does. Once she has this talent, Yrliet has a chance equal to her current Lethality toadditional damage whenever she hits an Opening.
The extra damage is equal tofive percent of the target’s maximum Wounds. Against larger foes, that can account for some hefty damage, especially when you factor in the extra fromDeadly Calculation.

3Imminent Demise
It Has Come To Pass As The Farseers Predicted
Imminent Demiseis perfect for wearing down bosses with shot after shot. Whenever Yrliet deals direct damage to a target, that enemy gains one stack ofvulnerable.
Each stack of vulnerable causes the enemy to takeextra damage from Yrliet’s attacks based on her Perception Bonus. All it takes is a few shots for that percentage to add up fast!

2Lethality Heightens
The Bloody-Handed God Stirs
In most cases, it won’t be hard for Yrliet to hit a foe for at least fifty damage in one shot.Lethality Heightenscauses her effectiveness to grow each turn.
Whenever Yrliet deals five or more direct damage with a single attack - usually thanks toDeadly Calculation- she gains 10 Lethality until the end of the fight. There is no limit to the amount of Lethality that Yrliet can gain this way over the course of a single battle.

1Mortally Effective
Asurmen’s Wrath Is Made Manifest
Assassins and Operatives are bothvery AP-intensive Archetypes, with lots of setup on each turn.Mortally Effectivelets Yrliet debuff more enemies or prepare for her next turn more efficiently.
The first time each round that Yrliet hits a target while she has100 or more Lethality, sheregains all the AP spent on the attack.Mortally Effective combos especially well with attacks thatcost two or more AP!
