Tekken 8has been out a few days now, and the general feeling across the fighting game community is that it absolutely slaps. Not only does it feel great to play andhas great customization options, but it alsohas a wacky and wild storythat feels like a true celebration of the series and a reward for longtime players that have stuck it out all these years. It’s a celebration that’s worth celebrating, and that’s exactly what legendary UK rap artists D Double E And Fumez The Engineer have done on their latest track.

Tekken 8 (The Anthem) was released earlier today, which is a track obviously themed around Tekken 8, expertly splicing in characters from the game’s roster, such as Steve Fox and Law. You can also tell that both D Double E and Fumez the Engineer are huge Tekken fans, just from the way that certain story beats and character personality traits are also woven into the lyrics pretty seamlessly.

It’s also very lcear frm how both artists talk about Tekken that they’ve been huge fans of the series for a while. D Double E just has a general love for fighting games as a whole, which you can often hear in his music, while Fumez The Engineer claims that he’s been a Tekken fan “my whole life”. You can check out the music video for the song above, or you can find it on pretty much all streaming services out there, including Spotify and Apple Music.

Anyone who listens to my music knows I love fighting games, so it just made sense to make a TEKKEN track that hits like a Mishima dragon uppercut! - D Double E

At the very least, it’s a pretty cool tune to put on whilst you’re labbing in Tekken 8 itself, which you’ll need to do if you plan on rising up the ranks. You might not want to aim for the top spot right now though, as several players are reporting that cheaters are currently topping online leaderboards by boosting with another player, something which is clear by watching replays.

Thankfully, Tekken 8 director Katsuhiro Harada has already spoken out about this problem via his personal Twitter account, claiming that the team is “currently dealing with cheaters on the ranking boards”, suggesting some well-earned bans are on their way. It’s some pretty great news for everyone hoping to ply their trade in Ranked, though I’m probably going to need to stop being juggled by Kuma to make it to the top of the leaderboards.
